Hrithik & Aishwarya to sing a song for ‘Guzaarish’

After displaying his acting and dancing skills, actor Hrithik Roshan is now bent on making his singing talents known. He has crooned for a song in ‘Kites’ and now will also exercise his vocal chords for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ along with Aishwarya Rai.

Again, this is not the first time for Ash too where she will be experimenting with singing. She has already done a song for Josh along with Shah Rukh Khan. The song has been composed and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself and it was he who wanted the actors to try out the song themselves. Initially both were a little apprehensive but after sitting with the director and talking about the song, both gave a green signal. Apart from singing the duo are also learning Portuguese for the film.”

In Guzaarish, Hrithik plays a paraplegic suffering from impairments of the motor and sensory functions of the lower limbs. Aishwarya Rai plays his nurse in the movie. Given the kind of sparking chemistry displayed by Hrithik-Ash jodi in “dhoom 2’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, this one seems to be the one to watch out for!!

Kareena to star opposite SRK in ‘Ra.One’

Finally, we will get to see Kareena and SRK together in the leading pair for Shah Rukh Khan’s home production Ra.One, about a flying superhero. The two had appeared together in 2001 for ‘Asoka’ which bombed at the box –office. Since, then Kareena has only done two item numbers for SRK- one in ‘Don’ and the other in ‘Billu Barber’. Now, reports have it that she has finally given the nod for the lead role opposite SRK in this sci-fi venture from Red Chillies providing some major scripts changes are made. She does not want to be known as ‘King Khan’s flop Queen’. Therefore, she wanted a much meatier part in this film.”

Kareena will be doing some very good stunts in the film apart from flying in the skies and saving people. Production will begin end of this year and continue well into 2009. The film is expected to be shot in USA. No release date has been finalized as of yet but it is expected that the film should hit the screens by Diwali 2010.

Big B promises to do another film with Sujoy Ghosh

Following the rumours of a link-up director Sujoy Ghosh's, leading lady Jacqueline Fernandez has apparently vanished from Sujoy's life. Desperate efforts to reach her for promotional activities have proven futile. The lady is just not reachable.
On Friday, when
Aladin opened, Sujoy was promoting the film with composers Vishal-Shekhar. The Big B had driven off for Lonavla to shoot for Bigg Boss.
Jacqueline was nowhere to be located.
Sujoy Ghosh whose new film
Aladin was slammed by critics got the surprise of his life when the Djinn in his film suddenly offered him much-needed tonic.
On seeing how nervous, tensed and depressed he was, the Big B impulsively turned to Sujoy and said, "Okay, go ahead announce your next film with me."
The moment has become etched in Sujoy's mind for eternity. "I can't get over the moment. When the world was slamming my film, he stood up for me and supported me. Some critics have slammed the film as though it's the worst film in the universe. That's four years of my life," laments Sujoy. "And please remember, it's supposed to be a kids' film."

Shamita Shetty may not be able to attend Shilpa's wedding

There's a chance that Shamita may not be able to attend her sister's wedding. According to highly- placed sources at Colors, there seems to be no provision to get a contestant out of a game show for a wedding.
Hard as it may be to believe, Shilpa Shetty's kid-sister, now locked away in
Bigg Boss, is oblivious of the momentous developments in her star-sister's life.
Says a highly-placed
Colors source, "Shamita has not been told anything about Shilpa's engagement or the marriage in the last week of November. As far Shamita knows, the marriage was supposed to happen in December after the show was over."
Now that Shilpa has approached the channel to evict her sister in time for the wedding -and a meeting between the two parties is on the cards this weekend - the channel bosses are at a loss as to how the rules can be bent to get Shamita out of the
Bigg Boss house.
Says the source, "There's a provision for a house-mate to be brought out in a case of an extreme emergency. It happened with Jade Goody last year. But does a sister's unscheduled wedding qualify as a family crisis? We're now wondering if the same rule as Jade can be applied to Shamita's case."
The international
Big Brother rules are being consulted. If there's no provision for a contestant to leave the game for a family wedding, then Shamita Shetty may not get the permission to leave Bigg Boss house for the wedding!
This however seems improbable, considering Shilpa's old relations with the reality show. (She was contestant on
Bigg Brother and hosted Big Boss 2).
Says the source from
Colors, "After meeting Shilpa this weekend we'll work out a strategy on Shamita's eviction."
According to the plan, if rules apply, Shamita's eviction will be done live. "If an unexpected turn of events helps us boost our TRPs, we're certainly not shy of putting it on camera. We did with Jade Goody. We'll do it with Shamita."
The pop philosopher of the show Amitabh Bachchan is expected to do the needful. He will be breaking the news of Shilpa's engagement and impending marriage to Shamita.
"The rest is up to Shamita. Once we're sure she can be evicted whether she decides to come out or stay in the House is entirely her decision," ends the channel source.

Ranbir Kapoor is cover boy of 'Yuva'

Ranbir Kapoor

He is Hot, he is Cool and he is Sid! He is someone, who comes with a statutory warning 'Beware ladies! Look...I am coming'. Well, he is Bollywood's latest blue eyed boy - Ranbir Kapoor, who, with his performance in Wake Up Sid, made everyone sit up and take notice of his talent!

Looking at his ever-increasing fan base, it becomes obvious that he is the eternal youth icon. Hence, it comes as no surprise to know that he is the cover boy of Yuva, the magazine for young India. Ranbir, does belt out a few verbal gems in this freewheeling interview, whereby, on Deepika, he says that "We are like any normal couple with a career. We are busy working, we exchange notes once in while, give feedback to each other, spend time together". He also clarifies the faster-than-fire kind of rumor that had he and Imran Khan are coming together as partners to form a production company. He rubbishes the rumor saying that, "Let me put it on record, that's completely false. Imran and I won't mind doing a film together, but we haven't found anything that interests us. Even this whole thing about us being very close buddies is just talk".

Seems like there's so much more to Ranbir than just his famed chocolate looks. Needless to say then, this issue of 'Yuva' is indeed a must-buy for those who know Ranbir and for those who wish to know Ranbir!

Vouching for Asin’s acting skills, Jacqueline says that her performance in both the versions of Ghajini was fantastic.
Jacqueline Fernandez, who is making her debut with Aladin, has Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt sharing the screen space with her.

Aamir Khan is 'perfect' for Danny Boyle's next

'Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle feels that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is perfect for his upcoming untitled film."It's a fantastic script and we had a very good meeting with Aamir Khan," the Oscar-winning director said after a meeting with the actor here."I don't think Aamir is definite for it yet, but he is obviously perfect for the role," Boyle added. The director who had won the Oscar for the best director for his Mumbai-based potboiler, had met Khan at the premiere of 'Slumdog' and had expressed his wish to work with the 44-year-old actor."I have met Aamir before and I think he is unbelievable and a very special person," Boyle added. The director was also very impressed with Khan's 'Taare zameen Par' and had praised him as a good filmmaker.Though Boyle refused to give further details about the film, it is said to be named 'Bombay Velvet' and earlier reports suggested that the director wanted to rope in Shah Rukh Khan.Like 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'Bombay Velvet' too is based on the city of Mumbai and depicts real life incidents

Sania Mirza watches London Dreams

Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, who is in London to start the build-up to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, came face to face with Salman Khan who was put up at the same hotel.Salman invited Sania and her family for a private screening of London Dreams, which was held at a West End hotel last evening. Salman’s brother, Sohail, and his close family and friends also attended the showing and gave the film a thumbs up.Salman has been hosted by Studio 18 in London for media engagements to promote his latest Vipul Shah-directed release.

I missed Akshay, but loved Salman, Ajay’s dynamism: Vipul Shah

“London Dreams” is Vipul Shah’s first film that doesn’t star Akshay Kumar. While the filmmaker missed his favourite actor, he says he thoroughly enjoyed working with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn and loved their dynamism.“When you work with people with whom you have never worked before, there are two ways to look at things. Firstly, you do miss your favourite actor and…I have been associated with Akshay for so long. On the other hand, you have to start enjoying the process of working with the new bunch of people. Thankfully, both Salman and Ajay allowed me that comfort level,” Shah told IANS.Shah teamed up with Akshay in his directorial debut “Aankhen”, followed by “Waqt – Race Against Time” and “Namaste London”. Later when he decided to rope in Anees Bazmee as director for “Singh Is Kinng”, Akshay was once again by his side. All these films worked well at the box office.“Akshay and me go a very long way. It is absolutely a great rapport that both of us share and it’s a treat to work with him. However, I have to admit that since I was working with Salman and Ajay for the first time, I had to be on my toes all the time. That further made it an enjoyable experience for me,” he said. The director has brought Salman and Ajay together 11 years after “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.Talking about the two, he said: “In any case, both these actors are beyond hits and flops today. They have been there for 20 years now and seen the industry and its trends quite closely. Moreover, they enjoy worldwide popularity and are known all over.“They have a huge reach and impact which should bring in audiences. After they get an opening, it should be the film which should do the talking. If it is good, it would work. Period.”Shah is also all praise for Asin Thottumkal, who would be seen in “London Dreams” a year after her debut Bollywood flick “Ghajini” opposite Aamir Khan.“It is challenging for any actress to stand in front of terrific actors and stars like Salman and Ajay. However, the best part is that though she is a fresh face for Hindi audiences, she has worked with Kamal Haasan and other big stars down south.“She knows how to make her presence felt amidst big stars and not to get conscious, upset or scared. It’s that kind of confidence that puts her at par with the actors,” the director said.“She comes with that definite advantage. Since she has already dealt with one huge star like Aamir, her confidence shows. She is not scared of stars and comes across as so fresh on screen. This is so good for any director,” he said. With an intense drama like “London Dreams” in front of audiences, Shah knew that he had a task in hand.“While making the film, I had to work towards creating a comfort zone for my actors. Audiences should walk out of theatres saying that other than just Akshay, Vipul can extract good work from Ajay and Salman as well. That would be my win from the film,” Shah said.

Zoya Akhtar’s next a road movie, brother Farhan to play lead

He was her last resort for her critically-acclaimed directorial debut “Luck By Chance”. But for her second film Zoya Akhtar has specially written a part for brother Farhan.“It’s a road movie set in Spain about three boys and one of the three characters is definitely Farhan. I knew I wanted him. I was very clear that I wanted to work with him again,” said Zoya.Daughter of well-known lyricist Javed Akhtar, Zoya informed that her writer filmmaker-actor brother will not only act in the film, but also pen the dialogues for it.“I am writing this film with Reema Kagti. I’m wrapping up the script but as of now it is not locked yet. Then probably I’ll sit with Farhan for the dialogues and the casting,” she said.Throwing light on the film, she said: “It’s a coming of age genre. But it’ll be simpler than Luck By Chance’ and simpler to understand. A feel-good factor will be there in that sense,” said Zoya on the sidelines of the ongoing 11th annual Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema.Asked is her movie was in any sense a follow up to the upcoming Abhay Deol-starrer “Road Movie”, she said: “The trend’s been there. Look at Jab We Met’. It is a road film. It’s got that vibe of a road movie. And the promos to the Road Movie’ are gorgeous too.”

Sanjay Dutt on Ketosis diet to look young in “Knock Out”

Sanjay Dutt has been shooting with much younger Kangna Ranaut for “Knock Out” and if they look compatible in spite of the latter being half his age, it’s all because of a special ketosis diet – a high-fat, low-carbohydrate food.“Sanjay went on this special diet in June. It required him to take lots and lots of fattie food and no carbohydrates at all. In fact carbs would’ve been potentially lethal for this diet. In no time Sanjay started losing weight. And that too without having to give up his favourite food,” a source close to Sanjay told IANS.The 50-year-old, who is looking trimmer, plays an assassin out to get his victim with a sniper rifle in Mani Shankar’s “Knock Out”.

Ranbir Kapoor rushes to Goa for Katrina's rescue

It's so hard to capture the very essence of what makes Goa irresistible, we all know the beaches, the fenny, the laid back lifestyle, but it's the romance, the charisma, the intoxicating feeling of this exotic locale that Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani tries to build into its story line. The Rajkumar Santoshi film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif is all about fun, romance and feeling good- same things that Goa stands for.
So what's the couple doing in Goa? We heard that Ranbir plays the knight in shining armour as he heads down to Goa to save his lady love Katrina, in the film, who is being held captive there. In his true superman avatar (Prem from the film posters), Ranbir goes in for some must watch action moves and rescues the damsel in distress and rides away on, no not a stallion, but a Enfield Bullet.
This shot, as we are further told, is a prelude to the action and song sequences, while the rest of the film is shot in the quaint town of Ooty, the lovely songs in the film are shot in mystic Turkey. With a striking star cast and picturesque sites, it's definitely one film worth the watch.

"I was concerned about my ad with Kareena"

The hunt for Saif's missing woman is finally over. As it has turned out, she happens to be his childhood sweetheart whom he had to leave behind when his family moved to a different city. He has now managed to trace her down and as luck would have it, she is a social activist today.
However, there has been a twist in the tale. Just when he was about to reveal his identity to her and make her remember about the times gone by, he came face to face with Kareena Kapoor. And the rest, as they say, is now history. The ex-girlfriend has continued to remain an ex while Saif and Kareena are now a couple.
A happy-sad love story indeed, isn't it? Well almost, since this is not the real life story of Saif and Kareena but the script of the latest advertisement - Dil Titli - that has been unveiled over the weekend gone by. While the earlier part of the week saw a gradual built up for the advertisement that didn't quite reveal if Saif's search was for indeed for real, the unveiling of the mystery woman has laid all doubts to rest.
The entire promotional campaign did manage to create some stir though. Fresh out of the super success of Love Aaj Kal, it was surprising to see Saif sending out public notices through newspapers and other media forums announcing his search for a girl. With just a photograph in hands, he was shown to be running from pillar to post in his quest for regaining his old love.
While it was almost clear that this was a promotional exercise in motion, it wasn't quite obvious if this was for an advertisement or a movie. In fact some also felt that this could well have been the kick start of Qurbaan promotion since the film is getting readied for a November release.

However, as it turned out, all of this was actually a part of Dil Titli campaign where a 'titli' turned out to be a common factor between the two hearts that were in love long-long ago. Still, with Kareena coming into picture, it didn't take much time for Saif to shift loyalties!
Laughs Saif who admits that he was initially quite apprehensive about the concept, "Well, honestly speaking, I was a little concerned at first. I was wondering if this entire ad in the newspaper with me hunting for a missing girl could perhaps look unnecessarily sensational. However, once I saw the copy before it went for print, I was reassured that we were on the right track."
This was not all as the real test was audiences accepting him forgetting his first love the moment Kareena enters his life.
"True, I was worried that it should not look shallow that a guy forgets his childhood love in a matter of just a second", says Saif who is currently out of India on a vacation, "But then once the creative aspects of the ad were explained to me, I trusted them. Thankfully, it seems all has turned out well eventually."
Well, he has done his part and now it's upon audiences to decide whether they found Saif's change in heart justifiable or not!

Saif Ali Khan does body art

When was the last time that someone offered you a whopping amount for creating your own recipe? Well, think no further as the chips major Lay's, has done just that. It has announced the 'Give Us Your Dillicious Flavour' campaign, with none other than Saif Ali Khan doing the honours.
'Give Us Your Dillicious Flavour' is an innovative engagement program that is aimed at getting Lay's next potato chips flavour from the Indian consumer. The campaign will give the consumer an opportunity to co-create the flavour they like on Lay's and also become rich and famous. The winner will receive a mega prize of whopping Rs. 50 lakh plus 1% of the sales turnover from the new flavour, which will be launched by the end of May 2010.
Speaking on this occasion, Saif Ali Khan said, "Just as I have my own take on what flavour I like on Lay's, every Indian has their favourite too. Personally, I am excited how the campaign will go. It has all the ingredients of a great thriller. 'Give Us Your Dillicious Flavour' is being supported by a 360° marketing mix with an idea of consumers expressing their flavour though body art." Maybe, that explains the reason as to why the Prince Khan had some tattoos (read 'body art') on his hand! The entire campaign is being supported by a TVC that has Saif Ali Khan being aggressively pursued by consumers who are body painted as their favourite flavour idea. They're painted as Kachi Ambi or Achaari Baigan or Chilli Cheese. They pop up at him from everywhere, demanding that he pick their flavour till he turns around and tells them to not tell him, but to tell Lay's.
All in all, with Saif at the helm of things, one can easily say that 'Lay's is the way to go'. What say, Saif!

Aamir Khan confesses to being 'Pucca Idiott'

Allaying fears of an online identity theft, Aamir Khan has finally confessed that it is indeed he who was masquerading as 'Pucca Idiott' on the social networking site Facebook.
Late last night, Aamir wrote on his wall, "Ok guys, I give up. I guess its time to drop my defences. Yeh Star News wale bade kamzarf hain, mera bhanda phod diya, yaar. Not that I mind interacting with all of you, don't get me wrong. But I have my blog at www.aamirkhan.com for just that."
And more, "Confession over. Relief..." Aamir also bares his soul, frank as ever, "Here, on Facebook, I was trying to be anonymous so that anyone I interact with treats me like a normal guy. Also I get to know what you folks are really thinking and feeling. Sometimes you might not share everything with me, or might not be totally frank with me, if you know who I am." Is the star feeling lonely at the top?
He further remarked that it felt good to chat up with his Facebook friends and also added some photos of wife Kiran Rao and him on a holiday in Chamonix, as proof for the skeptics.

"Both Aamir and Salman are warm, friendly and very genuine people" - Asin

One film - old Asin has worked with the two Khans of the industry. She debuted with Aamir Khan and now will be seen in London Dreams with Salman Khan. The actress adores both the actors and finds them similar personality wise.Asin says, "Salman and Aamir both are extremely warm, friendly and very genuine people. They don't consciously work to create an image for themselves. In Bollywood, there are a lot of people who try to create a certain image of themselves and portray a certain image. Aamir and Salman are just themselves and that is very enduring and that is very rare in a showbiz industry like ours." Talking about professionalism she says, "Personality wise they are quite similar but their working styles are a little different. Aamir comes on the sets, will discuss his scenes with the director, will give inputs, takes suggestions and finally get to shooting. On the other hand, Salman would know his lines, deliver his shots and that would be the end of it. But I am sure as an actor, he would have prepared himself before coming to shoot. He would surely be knowing his work in terms of his body language, his lines etc. It is just the working style difference between them."

Remembering Indira Gandhi - 25 years after Indira Gandhi's assassination

It was so sudden, a stunned nation would not believe it for hours after. But India had to come to terms with the fact that on the morning of October 31, 1984, Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi had been felled by the bullets of those she chose to protect her life.

It has been 25 years since, but a leader to match the stature of India’s Indira is yet to come. A woman who braved the odds when the world still belonged to men. A global icon. A leader looked up to, feared, loved. Equally, a politician with more detractors than any of her ilk.

We remember Indira and pay homage to the iron lady who continues to inspire generations.
