When you think of this artist and the road he has chosen in the music world, the magic he creates with just a few strings of the guitar and the vibrating passion in his voice, echoing across thousands of crazed fans. This amazing experience leaves music lovers wondering what is next in line for the R& B , Hip hop artist, Haitian bad boy, Wyclef Jean.
The Grammy award winning, social activist, producer, artist has not left the scene since the Fugees made major waves with the track, "Killing me softly".
The Haitian born has been drawn to music from an early age getting his first guitar in high school and to say the least, Wyclef's career has been history since. Focusing mostly on world issues, a passion the artist says that has been strongly influenced by his roots and his aim which is to connect generations.
The artist has been a representation of the Caribbean and Haitian culture in particular, however he has not dropped short in ensuring that his music has hit all corners of the globe allowing them to enjoy his superb artistic talents.
Collaborations with the likes of Shakira in hips don't lie, the song and was number one for weeks and to this day one of the top selling ring tones ( yeah even on their phone) though Shakira's hips worked miracles. It was Wyclef's flavor and the guitar solo that stole hearts. Other fabulous collaborations includes Santana, Lil Wayne, Mary J Blige, Bounty Killer, Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child, Sublime, Simply Red, Mya, Sinéad O'Connor, Kimberly Scott, Mick Jagger, Canibus, The Black Eyed Peas and Eric Benét.
With his melodic voice stretching across all racial barriers, highlighting social injustices and modern day genocides, Wyclef can be seen as a musician that has taken his music to heart. Respected for his passion for unique creations, it was no surprise when Jean went across genres to explore the Desi genre releasing track "Hollywood meets Bollywood" remix, featuring Abhishek Bachchan and produced by Aadesh Shrivastava.
There is no denying Wyclef Jean is the "Perfect Gentleman" giving music to the world existing with a strong background and asking to "take me as I am", his positive lyrics does not promote a "911" call. Mr Jean, Sak Pase' (welcomes) us to his side of the world and what his eyes see and there is no doubt that "a million voices" has heard and continues to listen.see less biography

Infectious, authentic, with a voice that is pure pop prowess-not to mention liquid black eyes and a face that could launch a thousand ships -- TINA SUGANDH is the next wave of global music. Fusing pop, rock and a little bit of Bollywood, the young singer has a lot to share with the world about her varied influences. "That's my goal-to introduce mainstream America to some new sounds," she muses. "I think it's time for our beats to shine." On her debut album, Tina explores multifaceted relationships, self pride, and other human emotions and sets them to beats that are seared on the brain in one spin. On "Aja," which is Hindi for "come my way", bhangra thumps and an electrifying guitar riff are the backdrop to Tina's crystal-clear vocals, with a slight hint of her roots. "You Without Me," reveals Tina's vulnerability through a chorus that is instantly imprinted on the brain. "Patiently Wait" opens with tabla blows and staccato guitar strums, then crescendos to a repeated line filled with emotion. Perhaps the album's most exotic track, "Stay," is layered with heart wrenching Indian strings and percussions, as well as plaintive vocal acrobatics by Tina. With this debut album, Tina Sugandh creates a unique sound, proving herself to be a passionate writer and skilled instrumentalist, with an equally intense voice.
Growing up in New Jersey (her parents moved from Bombay when she was five months old), Tina Sugandh was immersed in music. Naturally gifted with an enchanting voice, Geeta, the matriarch of her close-knit family sang on the radio and at various functions (when she wasn't carrying out her responsibilities as a marketing professional); while the patriarch, Kanaiya, was a charismatic and charming master of ceremony, singer, and comedian (when he wasn't teaching at his University). Together, they were an enthralling couple, entertaining friends at gatherings and parties. Tina and her sister, Seema, traveled with their parents to all of their performances. It was at the age of five that Tina had found her calling. "The first time my parents allowed me to sing on stage was at a fair," she recalls. "I was five and I sang a ghazal, which is a type of song you can sing only if you have a trained voice. As soon as I got up there, I tried to take over. My parents were surprised when they realized I was trying to steal the spotlight! They recognized that I loved performing and wanted to be a part of the show. They encouraged me and supported my love of music and performing. They also kept me focused and gave me a strong work ethic by insisting that I could continue performing as long as my grades at school remained high." That started "The Sugandh Family" music legacy. Throughout Tina's school years, The Sugandh Family performed all over the U.S. and the Caribbean, and gained a huge following in the Indian community. At one concert, Tina begged her father to let her take over for one song and play the drum that he played, (called the dholak). As she began to play, the audience was dumbstruck. "My father wondered how a seven-year-old could have a sense of rhythm like that." Tina's parents decided to introduce her to a more intricate drum, the tabla, a two-barreled percussion that takes years to master and is predominantly played by men. "Dictating rhythm came so naturally to me. I loved playing live. At the start of the show, people would see me sitting behind the drum and think, oh, how cute-she's tuning the tabla for her father to play. No one suspected that I would actually have the strength or ability to play - then I'd blow them away." Her proficiency earned her a nickname: TablaGirl.
As a 15-year-old, Tina was discovered by Sean Harris, a screenwriter and creative mentor who would help shape Tina's talents. Sean eventually convinced Tina that she should pursue music as a career and, to that end, spent time working on a demo. Between her studies as a biology major at Rutgers University (where she eventually graduated on the Dean's List), and weekend performances with the Sugandh Family, Tina would drive to Washington DC to work with Sean, who arranged photo shoots and studio time for her, and most importantly, encouraged her to write her own music. The first song she ever wrote, "I Spit Fire," appears on her debut album. Once Tina completed her demo and promo package, Tina approached her future methodically. "Every morning I'd send out a few demos, make about 30 calls to labels, and keep very detailed notes on each conversation," she laughs. "I'd write down every time I followed up. It was studious and dorky, but when I want something to work, I create a plan and persistently follow through until I get what I want." Her persistence paid off when a friend introduced her to Sean Sullivan, who had been working with Maxwell, John Mellencamp and Jessica Simpson and was starting a new management company. Sean was impressed and had her perform for Jay Jay French (Twisted Sister, Sevendust), his partner in the new venture. Jay Jay was equally impressed and the duo signed her to their new company, Rebellion Entertainment. They spent the next year developing her songs and creating new demos. These demos lead to a publishing deal with Warner/ Chappell Music and a Sony deal. Working with producers Lester Mendez (Shakira, Enrique Iglesias and Jewel), Track & Field (Nelly Furtado), Ming & FS, Dr. Luke and Danny P, Tina wrote or co-wrote all twelve tracks on her debut. The songs are filled with optimism, longing and self-confidence. Flitting between fun nights of clubbing ("Inevitably") and her relationship with her mother ("You Without Me") to the heart-wrenchingly beautiful love song ("Stay"), Tina is determined to keep her message positive and remain true to her heritage. Instruments, like the tabla, the dhol, and the harmonium appear all over the tracks. Even The Sugandh Family make several cameo appearances on the album, which is both ancient and modern, soothing and danceable.
With her Sony debut, Tina Sugandh unveils her blend of exotic South-Asian rhythms and show-stopping ballads to the world. "I feel like the constant encouragement, years of performance experience, and musical genes that my family blessed me with were all in preparation for this moment in my life." confesses Tina, who also is one of the hosts of the popular program Asian Variety Show on Saturday mornings ("It's the Entertainment Tonight for Bollywood."). "There was a time when Latin music was a bit foreign, and now you hear it's beauty everywhere. I believe it's time for the Indian sound to explode." By lighting the fuse, Tina Sugandh is among the first to ignite the Indian explosion.see less biography

"They are without doubt the next Asian/Bhangra act that will break through into the mainstream - it is only a question of time." "Tigerstyle's new album will be massive, and ......... will make sure Bhangra doesn't die quality wise." (Bobby Friction BBC Radio 1)
Coming from a traditional background where religious adherence was the call of the day and learning to play instruments from a young age so that they could perform at their local temple have now turned this young Sikh outfit into the most sought after act. Recently signed to Nachural Records (the label that launched Panjabi MC onto the world stage and into a global hit), Tigerstyle are now preparing their debut single and debut album for a worldwide release.
"You've got two very devout Sikh Punjabis from Glasgow, who know their Bhangra music more than anybody. I mean they absolutely know their stuff. They're young, they're the right generation. If you listen to some of their earlier albums they were ground-breaking then. What they do and what they've done is, they still play the traditional stuff, but they will effortlessly fuse it into Dancehall or Hip-Hop. And the beauty of them is that they both know their genres of music......It all works together, it sounds great. And they can perform live......I think that is really interesting, really clever. We've still got the traditional Punjabi music. We've still got the element of live and it's still taking it forward." - Adil Ray (BBC Asian Network UK, excerpt taken from "Bhangra" written by Dr. Rajinder Dudrah).
But Tigerstyle's journey has not been an easy one. After two albums of more traditional Desi flavours, Tigerstyle got themselves into a problematic situation which left the duo unable to release material for three years. But this hiatus allowed Tigerstyle to develop their musical talents as they were asked to do white label mixes for Ms Dynamite, Busta Rhymes, Eminem and 50 Cent.
Further recognition came in the form of official remixes for other mainstream acts such as Lisa Maffia (Independiente), Lamya (J Records),and Raghav (A&R) where Tigerstyle contributed with a remix on the hit single Angel Eyes which charted at No.4 in the UK charts. They fused Bhangra with Reggaeton championing the unique "Bhangraton" genre, providing remixes for Machete Music artists Luny Tunes, Wisin Yandel & Don Omar. They worked an exclusive remix of M.I.A.'s "XR2" for the BBC Asian Network.
Nachural Records also announced the placement of tracks from its catalogue onto Project Gotham Racing 3 the game to be launched by X Box (owned by Microsoft) in the winter of 2005. Two tracks by Achanak ("Teri Muhabbatain" Produced by Tigerstyle and "Lak noo" remix) and three tracks from the forthcoming Tigerstyle album ("Boliyan", "Akh mastani" and "Maan doabe da") were identified as key representations of the worldwide appeal of Bhangra music.
This was the first time that Bhangra tracks had been placed on any interactive game and endorsed the mainstream opinion that Bhangra had finally arrived in the ever increasing music market. Recent Success: Tigerstyle ft Kanwar "Son of a Sardar (part 1)" was the first Sikh Hip Hop track to be playlisted in the A list on the BBC Asian Network. It charted at No3 in the station playlist chart, was No1 in Friction's Top Five tracks, and was No7 in his Top 40 songs of 2007. The song has received over 32,000 plays on their Myspace profile in the space of 9 months.
The success of Tigerstyle has taken them touring all over the world including USA, Canada, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Dubai, Singapore and Australia, all in the time span of the last 4 years. They have shared stages with the likes of internationally reknowned artists Lily Allen, Talvin Singh, Nitin Sawhney, The Dub Pistols, Fun-Da-Mental, Misty in Roots, Gunjan, Asian Dub Foundation, Badmarsh & Shri, Truth Hurts, Panjabi MC, Future World Funk, Raghav, Johnny Kalsi & The Dhol Foundation, Hans Raj Hans, Jazzy B, Malkit Singh, Jassi Sidhu, Channi Singh (Alaap), Andy Gangadeen of Massive Attack, DJ Semtex, Bobby Friction & Nihal from BBC Radio 1 and Panjabi Hit Squad of BBC 1Xtra.
Tigerstyle are one of the few Asian acts to have ever recorded a live session for the legendary late Sir John Peel. They were given the opportunity to showcase material from their forthcoming album supported by a full live band and feature vocalists at the first ever BBC Electric Proms in September 2006, and were selected out of 1000s of bands to perform on the first ever BBC Introducing Stage at the Glastonbury Festival in July 2007.
"These overlapping territories mapped within a single Tigerstyle beat demonstrate that Bhangra is not just a new set of sounds for rap dudes to sample it is a movement unto itself, folk music for folk that live in the gaps." - Ed Stats (Fader Magazine)
Traditionally asian record labels have signed artists to "buy out" deals whereby the artist is paid a lump sum for their material but sell all their rights, including publishing rights, to the record label. This meant that artists would no longer own or control their own material and would receive no long term income from the exploitation of this material.
Tigerstyle broke the mould and consciously revolutionised the way the asian music industry was running in the U.K. by setting up their own production label, Soldier Sound Recording, which has been instrumental in managing the careers of artists such as Bikram Singh, Blitzkrieg and Gunjan. Tigerstyle are currently working on new material due to be released in the coming months, where Indian, American and European record labels have shown a keen interest in licensing Tigerstyle's album. These same partners were responsible for the success of Panjabi MC.see less biography

We already know how urban music has expanded and broadened its barrier by mixing various cultures and genres together. Presently, the South Asian Industry is growing tremendously and has already crossed into the mainstream categories. Often, the most popular way of getting the ethnic touch in production, was to rip samples to create the beats and melodies, but what makes us unique, is our given background in such genres.

Swami are a critically-acclaimed Asian electro-pop band from Birmingham, England.
Swami's debut dance album Desi Nu Skool Beatz was initially released in 1998. Described as "blinding" by the Birmingham Post, the album received some international recognition when the opening track Mehbooba appeared in the 2004 Olsen twins movie New York Minute. This was followed by the 2002 album Bhangradotcom, which was less dance-oriented.
Their big break came with the release of their third album DesiRock, which became popular across the entire British Asian music scene. By this time Diamond was the only original member remaining and had recruited his cousin S-Endz as rap vocalist in the band. The title track DesiRock was voted as a BBC Radio 1 favorite and the album voted Best Asian Album of 2004 by various newspapers and websites, which led to the band doing a Maida Vale session in the summer of 2005, and the title track also appeared in the Official 2006 FIFA World Cup edition of Electronic Arts' FIFA series of video games. In the same year DJ Swami won the Media Storm Best Producer award at the UK Asian Music Awards, as well as being nominated for Best Track (DesiRock) and Best Group.
In late 2005, the band signed a deal with Sony BMG to release DesiRock in India as "So Who Am I" with a new line-up including new vocalist Sups. The album was almost completely remixed with S-Endz covering all rap vocals and much more use of live instruments. They embarked on a successful promotional tour of India which included a high-profile performance at the MTV Style Awards. Shortly afterward this version of the album was digitally released worldwide.
In Fall 2007, Swami released their new album "Equalize". The album features many guest appearances including Pras of The Fugees, Boostylz, Lady Ru, French rappers Asuivre, South African vocalist Ishmael, MC Spee from the band Dreadzone, Yam Boy and more. The line-up of the band had now switched to DJ Swami, S-Endz, Sups and Dhol player Bobby Panesar.
The lead track, "Hey Hey" was premiered on MySpace on the 1st August, in a deal which saw Swami as the MySpace Music Featured Artist of the Week. The band then recorded an exclusive BBC Radio 1 live performance in September and the video to "Hey Hey" premiered later that month.
With "Hey Hey", "Electro Jugni" and "Can't Let Go" (all from Equalize) all burning up the charts, Swami shook up the game again with their announcement of "53431" - an exclusive download zone only accessible to those who purchased the album. By the end of 2007 it was clear that Equalize was undeniably the album of the year with "Hey Hey" alone hitting over 1.5 million plays on MySpace. Swami then announced that they had signed a new deal with EMI, and that the album would be re-released with exclusive remixes and bonus tracks including a new version of "Electro Jugni" featuring the popular Swedish-Latina singer DeDe Lopez.
In February 2008, Swami performed live on the BBC TV show 'Desi DNA', with many music fans and journalists declaring their performance to be the highlight of the evening - this performance also served as the debut of Swami's new female singer Liana. The video to 'Electro Jugni' was shot a few weeks later and is expected to premiere soon.

Sunidhi Chauhan was born on August 14, 1983. She started her singing career as a child, giving her first performance at the age of four in a local temple in Delhi.
Then she began to participate in a lot of different competitions. She was recognized in 1996 through the music show "Meri Aawaz Suno" - the first televised music contest in India - which was broadcast on the Indian national television channel Doordarshan.
She won the competition and got to record an album, but "Aira Ghaira Nathu Khaira" failed to do well.
Chauhan stepped into the world of playback singing with the 1996 Bollywood film "Shastra" by composer Aadesh Srivastava. Her big break came at the age of 16 when she sung the hit track "Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi" and other songs from the 1999 Ram Gopal Verma film "Mast."
After her big breakthrough, there was no turning back for Chauhan. She has worked with almost all the leading singers, composers and lyricists of India. She has collaborated with Indian singers such as Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Udit Narayan, and is known for her popular pairing with Sukhwinder Singh.

She is perhaps the only Bollywood artist who can sing just about any genre. No wonder she is widely known as one of the Bollywood divas and is often compared to Western singers like Mariah Carey.

Chauhan went on to win the "Kelvinator GR8! FLO Women Award" in 2009 for her mind blowing contribution to music.see less biography

A gifted singer, composer and producer, Sukshinder Shinda has collected an impressive string of hits that are embedded in the hearts and minds of millions across the world. Shinda has been a force in the Asian music scene for over 15 years and along the way over 200 studio albums. Since his debut solo 'Gal Sun Ja' he has followed up the string of smash hits with 'Balle', 'Collaborations' and now 'Living The Dream'.
His extensive experience of music recording has already included working with artists like Kuldip Manak, AS Kang, Apna Sangeet, Panjabi MC, Sardool Sikander, Heera, Meshi Eshara, Manjit Pappu, Jaspinder Narula, Harbhajan Mann and Gurdas Mann. Subsequently, in 1986 Sukshinder Shinda helped launch Jazzy B's career by producing and composing his first album - a partnership that still flourishes two decades later.
From his first solo instrumental tape in 1989, Dhol Beat 1, he has set the trends that a generation follow. The album was probably the first ever totally instrumental album featuring the five most authentic Punjabi instruments. No synthesizers, no bass, and no samples – this has proved to be one of the most popular albums ever played since its release, and proof that Sukshinder Shinda's musical visions could well have been ahead of his time.
Having recorded and played live around the world and on some of the biggest stages, Sukshinder Shinda has seen his unique sound for AS Kang ('Jawani Boliyan' and 'Aish Karo'), Balwinder Safri ('Another Level'), and Harbhajan Mann ('Dil Apna Punjabi') take hold of audiences across the continents. The 2005 global smash 'Dil Lutiya' by Jazzy B, followed up Amrinder Gill's stunning album 'Dildarian' and the ground-breaking Bhangra track in the Bollywood film 'Teesri Ankh', are testament to his musical prowess.
Sukshinder Shinda – the producer, composer, arranger, singer and musician from Handsworth - is a music machine. Since his introduction to his mentor Kuldip S. Matharu and his tutorship under legendary Gold champion Dhol player Laal Singh Bhatti, Shinda's creative talents have seen become an accomplished player of the harmonium, tabla and keyboards. "With the immense guidance of my teacher and 'Guru' Ustad Ajit S. Mathalashi ji I have learned so much from him, but I feel there is still so much more knowledge to be gained each day in the field of music."
Since going solo, Shinda's live stage shows have captured the imagination of the public in virtually every corner of the world. Count San Francisco, Washington, Toronto, Kenya, Dubai, Pakistan, Australia and Norway as territories that have witnessed his full live band and the versatility of his voice to make him one of Bhangra's most in-demand performers.
Sukshinder Shinda's latest album, 'Living The Dream', displays growth and introduces a number of new musical elements. The lyrics have their own unique appeal and represent a new element to Shinda's singing style and in addition to his own vocals tracks it also includes it combines a touch of traditional Punjabi folk feel with urban street beats – representing Shinda's contemporary and traditional traits to a tee.
Whether you catch the man on stage, in the recording studio or through one of his new music releases, there can be no doubt that he is an exceptional talent in the modern era of Asian entertainment. His devotion to the sound of music and rhythm endear his musical magic to attain an enduring popularity. Sukshinder Shinda has a rare gift for taking the traditions of the past and translating them into the language of today's modern cultures.see less biography

Panjabi MC (also known as Punjabi MC, real name Rajinder Singh Rai) was born in 1971 in Coventry, England. Ninder Johal of Nachural Records discovered him thanks to his remix of Kuldeep Manak's "Ghariah Milan De".
His first 12" "Rootz" was very controversial because PMC used a religious Muslim song in it. The 12" was taken off the market but PMC continued making records. "Mundian To Bach Ke (Beware of the Boys)" (1998; first appeared on the CD Legalised) which mixed the theme of the TV series Knight Rider (already used before by Timbaland & Magoo on the track 'Luv 2 Luv U' and Busta Rhymes on his track 'Fire It Up (Remix)) with bhangra was already an underground hit when German record company Superstar Recordings - thanks to downloads on the Internet - picked it up and it became a major hit in Germany and then in the rest of Europe, including the UK. A version of this recording in 2003 featured American rapper Jay-Z named Beware of the Boys.
Panjabi MC is one of the pioneers of Asian/rap/dance fusion. He is very versatile, using not only hip hop but also styles like jungle (on "100% Proof"), UK garage (on "Desi"), reggae (on "Desi"). On "Desi", Panjabi MC uses vocal samples from Ofra Haza's "Im Nin'Alu". He also used "Planet Rock" ("Pyar Wich (Planet Rock Remix)" on Legalised) before Afrika Bambaataa recorded "Indian Planet Rock".see less biography

Mumzy Stranger is the latest pop sensation to hit the music circuit. With his debut single One More Dance, releasing on July 20th, he springs onto the scene with an exciting new sound and distinctive urban style.
The combination of his smooth, soulful vocal style, catchy pop rhythms and clean-cut, urban look has already got industry insiders touting Mumzy to be one of the year's hottest new artistes. Topped with his trademark hat and armed with boyish good looks, the 25-year-old is the first person of Bengali descent to create such excitement.
Signed to Tiffinbeats Records, One More Dance is produced by Rishi Rich, who has also worked with the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears and Craig David.
Born and raised in East London, as a teenager, Mumzy immersed himself into the urban garage scene that gave rise to groundbreaking musicians like Dizzee Rascal. With no support from his traditional Asian family, it was his mother who encouraged his art and helped him put together a studio in his bedroom, which was kept secret from the rest of the family.
Not only did Mumzy have to fight his family, but as one of only a few Asian MC's, he also faced obstacles from his peers. But through sheer determination and belief in his work, he pushed through against all odds.
The turning point in his career came in 2005 when he met gifted producer Rishi Rich, who immediately recognized Mumzy's raw talent and took him on. Tragically, it was around this time that Mumzy's mother passed away, but knowing how much his music meant to her gave him the strength to pursue his dreams.
Today Tiffinbeats Records and Rishi Rich Productions are giving Mumzy Stranger the opportunity to project his skills to a much wider audience. Mumzy has already toured the world with Tiffinbeats, performing for sell out audiences in Dubai, Canada, Malaysia and India, which has earned him a strong underground fan-base.
Despite the travel and growing success, Mumzy still retains his East London roots and continues to live in Plaistow where he grew up. His support of the community includes being an Ambassador for Newham Council's anti-violence campaign to prevent gun and knife crime that has been rife amongst youngsters.
Mumzy's musical talents extend to playing the keyboard and guitar, as well as co-producing on his upcoming albumsee less biography

Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam, the daughter of a Tamil activist-turned militant, Arul Pragasam, was born in Hounslow, London. When she was six months of age, her family moved back to their native Sri Lanka. Motivated by his wish to support the Tamil militancy in Sri Lanka, her father became politically known as Arular and was a founding member of The Eelam Revolutionary Organization of Students (EROS), a militant Tamil group. Her alias, M.I.A., stands for both Missing in Acton and Missing in Action.
Arulpragasam has an older sister, Kali, and a younger brother, Sugu. Due to the conflict, much of her young age was spent moving from home to home. Contact with her father was strictly limited, as she says he was in hiding from the Sri Lankan Army. As the civil war escalated, it became unsafe for the family to stay in Sri Lanka, so they relocated to Cennai, Tamil Nadu, India, moving into a derelict house, with sporadic visits from her father. They later settled in Jaffna again. By now, the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka was at its peak, and the family once again tried to flee the country. Eventually, Arulpragasam, her two siblings and mother Kala made it back to London where they were housed as refugees. It was in the late '80s, on a council estate in Mitcham (South London), that an eleven-year-old Arulpragasam began to learn the English language. Here she was exposed to Western radio for the first time, hearing broadcasts emanating from her neighbours' flats. Her affinity for hip-hop and rap began from there. Acts including Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shante and N.W.A. would become just some of her early music influences.
Arulpragasam attended London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where she studied Fine Art, Film and Video. Arulpragasam currently lives in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, New York in the United States.see less biography

When we saw this boy-faced Southern artist rapping, passionately chewing on words of steel with Cash Money years ago, we knew that he was hungry to release some of the "sickest" and most incredible singles in the Hip Hop world. We however had no clue that Lil Wayne would be one of the crowned Gods in the hip hop entertainment world today.
Selling way over six million in over three years in the industry those that had doubted the slow talking Gangster from New Orleans has to be rechecking their thoughts and ideals as we speak. Wayne became a part of the scene, pretty young and released his first track "Get it how you live". To date Weezy (as he is commonly known) continues to release some of the most riveting singles in the industry. Some of his most noted hits are, "Stuntin' Like My Dad", "Fireman", "Go DJ", "Got Money", "Lollipop" and "Tell Me That You Need Me (Apologize Remix)".
The New Orleans rapper is also well known for his superb collaborations. Many even go as far as to say that anything the Weezy is featured on is a guaranteed best seller. The lyrical content and almost theatrical ways of in-your-face rhyming is definitely one reason that so many in the industry are itching at the chance to put out a single with him. Collaborations so far have included Destiny's Child, Juvenile, T-Pain, Jay- Z , Fat Joe, Akon, Birdman, Robin Thicke, T.I., Drake, and Kanye West, just to name a few.
In 2008, Lil Wayne was integral in signing Brit-Asian artist, Jay Sean to Cash Money Records. This made the already internationally acclaimed artist the first Brit-Asian performer to sign with a major American label. Lil Wayne is featured on Jay Sean's track, "Down" off of his album "My Own Way" released in October of 2009.
The very tattooed 29 year-old, Weezy, has created a new level of performer in the industry that was declared to have been stalled with the tragedy of the loss with great artists such as Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. This isn't to say that Lil Wayne has already reached the epic status of these great rappers, but if he continues with the success that he's had thus far, we will certainly still be talking about him in years to come.see less biography

Kidd Skilly, an up and coming hip-hop artist and the latest phenomenon out of the "Motor City", Detroit, Michigan, is on his way to greatness as he explores a new genre of music. Kidd Skilly's upbringing being all but traditional has been one of the most poignant influences on his music.
His youth was spent in an averse and inner city neighborhood where he was constantly challenged by his peers and community to prove that he was worthy of a future. His environment was pivotal in his finding music as a solace and companion as competition was fierce and every boy needed to achieve a sense of individuality. Born and brought up in southwest Detroit and of Mexican-Indian heritage, Kidd Skilly's cultural experiences have also had strong impacts on the uniqueness of his style and flow. The various types of South Asian music from Punjabi folk music by Gurdas Mann to remixed and fusion music by Punjabi MC were always a safe place that he regarded as "his own." It was what distinguished him from all of the other kids on his block. His love for exploring new types of music and delving deeper than the mainstream has made him what he is today; more than a rapper or even musician, but an artist on every level.
Because his interests were in underground and undiscovered music, Kidd Skilly has become very devoted to creating music with a purpose. He has been inspired by artists that are not afraid to "get political" and vows to live without classification as he produces his versatile music-allowing him to be true to his name, as the "Pride of the People." With a pen in his hand and the WITNIS Project under construction, Kidd Skilly now writes a new genre of music. His music and performances are characterized by accompaniment by rapper/producer Helluva and a 7-piece live band. Kidd Skilly's eclectic background has allowed him to create a genre of his own, uniting vastly different music types from underground Hip-Hop to Punjabi Bhangra. With the body of Hip Hop music and the spirit of Soul music, there's no limit in sight for Kidd Skilly's work. Although he foresees a major restructuring of the record industry in the next few years, Kidd Skilly is assured that his presence will always be felt at some angle of the industry.
After breaking into the scene in 2004, Kidd Skilly now pushes forward with many exciting projects underway. His next single, for which the video is currently being shot, is a track entitled "Bhangra Chick" where he puts a Punjabi edge on hip hop beats with the use of traditional Indian instruments and synthesizers. The track speaks to today's generation of Indian Americans through both street and Punjabi lyrics as it touches on Punjabi hits and a hard hitting hip hop flavor. "Bhangra Chick" marks the launch of a series of original singles that will be peaked by a collaboration with one of today's hottest mainstream hip hop artists. After Kidd Skilly's release of several singles, his next stop will be an up close encounter with his fans through an original, ten-city, back-to-school tour where he will showcase his new material and past hits which will hopefully be replayed in the UK and abroad as well. Kidd Skilly and his team are now looking for DJs to do their own version of his tracks which will later be featured as official remixes.see less biography

Have you seen that gorgeous model-looking chick that's got Usher sprung in the video for "Love In This Club?" Turns out, she's a recording artist in her own right. Keri Hilson is about to be huge. And she's one of those rare people who deserve to be. For Keri, music was a childhood friend she kept throughout adulthood. "In school, I would get in trouble for singing all the time. I unknowingly hummed every chance I got. It got so bad my friend's nicknamed me 'Keri-okey'". She wears that name proudly on her sleeve, and in credits for every major hit she writes.
Destined for stardom since day one, the Atlanta native's determined spirit first materialized all before she'd turn a teenager. While performing in school plays and winning talent shows all around Atlanta, she taught herself how to write songs at twelve. Impressed with Keri's vocal ability, her piano-turned-voice teacher ushered her into a studio session where she learned the nuances of recording music. "That was when I really knew that I could take music seriously," she says. "But at the time, I didn't know if there was such a job as production or songwriting."
"I come across a lot of people who are opportunists and they're like, 'If it happens, it happens.' I'm not one of those. I'm a go getter." True to her words, by 18 she was arranging songs, cutting vocals and engineering sessions. While on her journey to making a name for herself as one of the strongest songwriters out there, Keri eventually ran into producer Polow da Don working in recording studios all over their hometown Atlanta. One afternoon, he asked her the pivotal question-"'What producer do you think would get you where you want to be as an artist? Who would musically inspire you the most?' I said, 'Timbaland- hands down!'" Little did she know, Polow had already been talking to the Virginia Beach producer about her potential. Polow called her one morning with the news that Tim wanted to meet her. Keri was elated. "I wasn't freaking out," she recalls of that morning, "I was prepared. While I had taken all this time to hone my craft as a songwriter, I always believed that I would eventually get to be an artist. Everything I experienced, everything I felt growing up, all the work...I was just like, 'Ok. Wow. This must be it. It must be happening.'"
It was definitely happening. As soon as Keri and Timbaland met there was chemistry. "A lot of nights we would just listen to other people's music and critique it. Not for the sake of study but to listen to it and discuss it. We don't agree all the time. Definitely not. But I think that's what happens when you get two strong creative minds in the same room."
Even better things happen when you get three strong, creative people in the same room. September 2008 will see the release of Keri Hilson's first album, "In A Perfect World..." It is being issued as a joint release from Mosley Music Group (Tim's label) and Zone 4 (Polow's label) as an imprint of Interscope Records (Jimmy Iovine's label). The album is about relationships, it's emotive, human, gorgeously and deliberately imperfect. "No human is exempt from the realities of life-heartbreak, love, failure, success-I want my album to convey a sense of reality. That's the standpoint that lent itself to the title. There will always be something you'd change if only you lived 'In A Perfect World...' and I'm no different."
The highly anticipated debut features her indomitable songwriting skills, the genre-obliterating production of Polow da Don and Timbaland, and Keri Hilson's undeniably incredible voice. "I deliver my songs with emotion," she enthuses, "I don't like a lot of effects. It takes away from the emotion. Like the raspyness of my voice in 'Slow Dance' (written with Justin Timberlake) for example. I love the way I sound on that track-straightforward, throwback, and old school. I don't want that feeling taken away. I'm so particular about those emotions. I don't want anyone to walk away from my album just thinking, 'that sounds nice.' Anybody can do that. I'm much more concerned that they walk away thinking, 'that felt great.'"
For her humility, the album is as dizzyingly good as it should be. It's a watershed moment that meets both goals-it sounds and feels great. The songs are unconventional. It's universally appealing in its pop offerings (infectious hooks are plenty) but the arrangements are challenging in how many layers there are to listen to. Heavy synth-laden basslines to the classical guitar in the tensely urgent Polow-produced "Ready to Fall," Keri anchors it all with a pitch-perfect voice that is refreshing in its versatility. From the sweeping cinematic orchestration of Timbaland's "Mic Check" ("I loved harnessing all that aggression in my voice.") to the speedy cascading electro bassline of "Return the Favor." The mutual trust between artist and producers allows them to take bold risks. Keri shouts out all the "fly girls" on her song "Get It Girl". "A 'Get It Girl' is focused on getting everything she wants out of life. She is strong, independent, determined, loves to have fun, always stays fresh - and no matter what, accepts no limitations."
"In A Perfect World..." represents a world where music is music and you can't put it in a box. It's a catalyst for Keri to defy categorization, "I want to be a point of reference" states Hilson. "Hip-hop has become pop; pop is hip-hop. Music is definitely changing. I want to be the crux of that. I want to be a reason, not a result."see less biography

He was persuaded into becoming a professional Bhangra artist by friends who sang with him as a group at parties and Sikh wedding receptions. He credits a co-worker for believing in him and launching his career by lending $5,000 for recording studio costs. After turning professional at the age of 18 he moved to Birmingham, England where he currently resides. Music Jazzy B has released thirteen albums all of which have been produced by Sukhshinder Shinda, a talented Bhangra record producer and artist known as 'The Music Man'. Together they have created some of the most popular Bhangra hits, including "Ghugian Da Jorra", "Londono Patola", "Naag", "Tera Roop", "Sardara", "Dil Luteya", and "Soorma". The 2005 Balle - Romeo Tour, which promoted Jazzy B's album Romeo and Sukhshinder Shinda's album Balle, played at various venues around the world including Paramount Canada's Wonderland near Toronto, Canada which attracted a record crowd of over 65,000.
Jazzy B's popularity and success in Bhangra can be attributed to his style which is quite different from other artists in the genre. From his unique appearance to his mix of traditional and westernized songs and music videos, he has revolutionized the image of Bhangra. The music videos for his singles "Soorma" and "Romeo" were based on Hip hop music videos and featured Hummer H2s and the Rap group Takeova Ent. Jazzy B has also said that the reason for his longevity as a successful Bhangra artist is that he works exclusively with Sukhshinder Shinda as he does not want to flood the Bhangra market with songs on different producers' albums like, for example, fellow artists Lehmber Hussainpuri and Manak-E. This often leads to only short-term popularity as the artist's own solo albums are not as eagerly anticipated by fans. He has been compared to legendary Bhangra artist Kuldip Manak, whom he considers an idol and inspiration. Jazzy B made his acting debut in 2000 with a cameo appearance in the Bollywood film Shaheed Udham Singh[2] which starred fellow Punjabi singer and actor Gurdas Maan as the Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Their music was also featured on the film's album. In 2006, Jazzy B made another cameo when he was featured in the movie Teesri Aankh[3] performing the Indi-pop song "Chug De Punjabi". He has expressed an interest in acting and has stated that he would consider bigger roles in the future.
Health IssuesIn 1997, Jazzy B had major problems with his throat which required surgery. Having lost his voice and not being able to sing for over a year, he says he turned to God for help and miraculously got his voice back. After going through this experience, he did something very uncommon at the time for a Bhangra superstar by releasing the Sikhi spiritual album 'Singha Di Kaum Bahdhur Hai' in 1999. Since then, other popular Punjabi artists have followed in his steps and released religious material.
ControversyIn 2005, there was controversy regarding the music video of Jazzy B's single "Soorma" in which the actors appearing in the video were known drug dealers who were later convicted of various drug related charges. The Hummer H2s featured in the video were also supplied by these actors and were later re-possessed by the federal government.see less biography
