First she made the bold move of kissing an actor on screen, something unheard of from a Bollywood actress, now this superstar wants to leave her traditional romantic lead roles and instead do comedy. So will Deepika Padukone be able to bring her fans some laughs?
Well in an attempt to do so Deepika has taken on a role in Sajid Nadiawala's film, "House Full." This star-studded film includes Akshay Kumar, who is no stranger to comedy. Maybe he can give Miss Padukone some tips on how to get the laughter going.
As much as we love Deepika for her strong acting skills and beauty it will be hard to imagine her in a comedic movie. Although Deepika Padukone has previously acted in "Chandni Chowk to China" that was intended to bring humor, the horrible story line over shadowed any comedy that was in the film.
So now it is Padukone's chance to show the world she can shine outside a role in the romance genre. Taking her acting career seriously she is determined to prove that she can do it, so much so that she has already began working on another comedy, 'Karthik Calling Karthik,' with actor Farhan Akhtar. The actress is almost finished shooting for that and upon completion she will focus on wrapping up shoots for, 'House Full.' The actress admits that comedy is not an easy genre but the guidance from Sajid Nadiawala and Akshay Kumar has helped.
Whatever the outcome may be, we have to give Deepika Padukone props for being a daredevil and trying something new. It's great to see actresses in this generation go against the norm. From kissing on screen, donning hot swimwear and acting in roles other than the damsel in distress it seems that Deepika is determined to make sure people remember her name!
