Confident that he could bring something bigger and better to the Bhangra scene, Imran Khan stepped onto the music scene in his early twenties.
Born and raised in The Hague, Holland, Imran Khan was always a fan of Punjabi music. Not only did he grow up listening to Punjabi music, he also loved R&B, Reggae, Garage, Pop. And all these music genres helped him to create his own unique vibe and style of Bhangra music.
Imran was offered a record deal with a British company that fell through, delaying the release of any album. At the time, Imran was also facing personal issues, but he managed to stay focused as he continued to write lyrics. The industry began taking notice of Imran Khan and his talents and he met with a number of record labels and producers. Unfortunately, Imran did not find the connection he was looking for with his team and he felt that they did not understand him or his music. In fact they wanted to change Imran's style and he was not willing to do that.
Having signed with Prestige Records and worked with Turkish producers Eren E and Hakan Ozan, Imran Khan released his single "Ni Nachleh" in 2007. It became an instant hit around the world. After all the struggles, Imran Khan was able to release his music in the fashion that he wanted. Needless to say, he was overwhelmed with the response.
Two years later, in the summer of 2009, Imran released his second single "Amplifier" along with a video. Then came the album, "Unforgettable." It went straight to the top of the charts! Imran's Punjabi and English music appeals to a young, urban crowd. His lyrics talk about situations and scenarios from everyday life. Imran Khan is an inspiration to those who are struggling to pursue their dreams; he never gave up and now he is one of the hottest artists on the scene.
Imran has two more videos that will be released with "Unforgettable" and a second album in the works. Hopefully we won't have to wait another two years, but however long the wait, it will be worth it.see less biography
