Australia still beckons Indian filmmakers, despite ban

Despite the self-imposed ban on the shooting of Bollywood films in Australia, following the racial attacks on Indian immigrants and students, Karan Johar's next home production, starring Kajol and Kareena Kapoor, is likely to be shot in Australia, later this month. The film in question is the STEPMOM remake that was also shot in Mumbai, during the latter half of October.
The issue was taken up strongly by none other than Amitabh Bachchan in May, whereby he rejected an honorary doctorate offered to him by an Australian university. He also touched on the subject in his blog.
While on the same topic, the shooting of South superstar Nagarjuna's productions is already underway in Australia.
