Bachchans' special evening for Madhushala!

Madhushala' an eternal creation by Shri Harivansh Rai Bachhan is still celebrated for its artistic genius and the nostalgia from the days when the poet himself presented it on stage much to the audience's delight. The poetry is as alive today as it was when the live audience listened to the recitations, spellbound to the message and beauty.
Commemorating the 102nd birth anniversary of Babuji, the entire Bachchan clan including Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, wife Jaya, son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and their closest friend Amar Singh came together to launch 'Madhushala - The House of Wine'.
The book is designed in a format that contains both the original and the English translation of poems side by side, interspersed with illustrations of paintings done by Ajitabh's daughter Namrita Bachchan. The original book, Madhushala was conceptualized and written in 1933-34, with its first publication in 1935. The highly metaphorical work played an important role in the Chhayavaad literary movement of early 20th century Hindi poetry and is still venerated for its Sufi intonations and philosophical undertones.
On this special occasion, a poetic recitation of Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan's select poems by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and members of the family captivated the audience.
The book has come together with the illustrations and designs of granddaughter Namrita A. Bachchan, and English translations by Marjourie Bolton and Ram Swaroop Vyas. The foreword penned by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
The Bachchan Sandhya, organized by Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, was held at the BVB auditorium, Mumbai.
