Neil: Ranbir and I together is a historical moment

Decades back, Raj Kapoor and Mukesh used to be an inseparable pair. For the greatest showman ever in Bollywood, the legendary singer had crooned countless chartbuster tracks that regaled the masses and classes alike. Circa 2009 and their offspring are battling it out at the box office. Last Friday, Raj Kapoor's grandson Ranbir Kapoor engaged into a box office battle with Mukesh's grandson Neil Nitin Mukesh. Even though AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI has edged past JAIL, Neil continues to be immensely fond of Ranbir.
"Come on, in today's times, we can't be talking about competition amongst youngsters. There is place and space for everyone and the moment one starts talking about competition, the creativity factor tends to fade away. As actors, you should not be worried about clashes and box office. If you want to think like that, better become a producer", says Neil in a diplomatic tone.

He does stress on the point that simultaneous release of the two films was nothing short of being a 'historical moment'.
"It is a proud moment that grandsons of Raj Kapoor and Mukesh son are coming together. This has its own place in the history. Once upon a time it was Mukesh's voice that was synonymous with Raj Kapoor. Who knows, tomorrow both Ranbir and I may be seen in the same film together", smiles Neil, "Ranbir is like a younger brother and I am sure he also wishes me luck. Ranbir is a confident and talented and I am sure he will go places."
Meanwhile he is ecstatic with the kind of response his performance has generated in JAIL. "It wasn't easy emoting for JAIL. Now when everyone from audiences, media and industry seems to have like the film and the performance, I can only look forward to meeting higher expectations in films to follow", signs off Neil.
