Rajkumar Santoshi can heave a huge sigh of relief. 5 years after the release and success of his KHAKEE (2004), he now has a bona fide HIT under his belt with AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI taking a phenomenal opening at the box office. For its actors Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif too, the film has proven to be quite a windfall. As a part of a romantic comic setup like this, they must be quite happy since the film has managed to bring out a different facet of their acting skills.
"I am glad if they feel so", says Rajkumar Santoshi who is a relaxed man today, "They were such a pleasure to work with. Katrina is immensely hard working while Ranbir has so much in store as an actor. They both went all out to make this film happen."

Talking about the film's comparison with ANDAZ APNA APNA, Santoshi comments, "Even though people were busy speculating if AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI was another ANDAZ APNA APNA, we were sure that it wasn't an over the top comedy that we were selling to the audience. This was meant to be a love story with a lot of humour to it and this is how we promoted the film as well. I am glad that audiences got the point."
A catchy title like AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI too seems to have gone in film's favour. Who thought of it actually?
"I had come up with the title though I must tell you something that not everyone was totally convinced with at the beginning", Santoshi surprises here, "Many out there had doubts if something like this would work. However, as the film progressed, we all were 200% sure that this was just the perfect title for the kind of story telling that we had adopted.
