It seems Mika hasn’t buried the hatchet with item girl Rakhi Sawant. The singer, who will make his acting debut in Punjabi film “Mitti”, says he will never ever work with her.“There is no question of working with Rakhi in future,” said Mika who was here to promote “Mitti”, slated to release Jan 8.The two are at loggerheads since Rakhi filed a police complaint against Mika for allegedly forcibly kissing her on the lips at his birthday bash.Asked if there is a good script involving Rakhi, Mika said: “How can a script or a concept be good if there is Rakhi in it?”With “Mitti”, Mika joins the league of Punjabi singers-turned-actors like Harbhajan Mann, Gurdas Mann and Babbu Mann.Talking about his debut vehicle, Mika said: “It’s not that I was not offered roles in films, but I was waiting for the right script and team. Earlier, I got an offer to play a villain in ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’, but I rejected it as I was sure that my fans wouldn’t like seeing any other actor beating me on screen,” Mika told IANS.“Initially, I was offered to compose music for ‘Mitti’. But when I heard the story, it clicked and now I am playing a very important character in the film.”Mika, who has sung songs like “Mauja Hi Mauja” and “Bhootni ke”, enjoyed his work in “Mitti”.“It was an amazing experience to act before the camera. I have realised that there is a lot to learn from my fellow actors. I am quite confident that I would get more meaningful and better subjects in the future,” he said.“Mitti” revolves around Punjab’s flourishing agriculture sector and entrance of special economic zones in the state. It shows how multinationals are grabbing land of poor farmers at throwaway prices.“It is not about NRIs, it’s only about Punjab, its youth, our roots and values that we have sidelined in pursuit of other materialistic ventures.”“‘Mitti’ is the story of four aimless boys who are expelled from university. They are misguided and wrongly used by shrewd politicians. But with the passage of time, they face harsh realities of life and then rebel against unscrupulous land mafia,” said Mika.Mika wants to spread Punjabi culture across the world.“I want to bring a change in the way people perceive Punjabi traditions and values outside Punjab. Therefore we are releasing this movie worldwide,” he said.Directed by Jatinder Mauhar, “Mitti” is produced by Rubina Baig and Kamalpreet Bains.Mika is also very enthusiastic about Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Ishquia”, where he has sung a song written by Gulzar.“It was indeed very special and a great experience for me to work with Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar,” he said.
