At a recently concluded award ceremony, ex-lovers Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor were up against each other and their petty antics only proved the reason for their parting ways. Both Kareena and Shahid were at opposing ends, as both demanded the organisers to perform after the other. Shahid insisted that he wanted to perform after Kareena as he had given more hits last year and Kareena maintained that she was a bigger star, and should get to perform after Shahid. After a lot of struggle, the organisers managed to coax Shahid and let Kareena have her way and perform after him. This didn’t end here. Currently dating Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor was seen taking a keen interest into what Shahid was wearing all throughout the event. Sporting a nerd look, he also donned a pair of glasses, something that didn’t cut a smart figure in Kareena’s eye. Not that she was used to it in old days, we guess!Keeping a close watch on the ‘Kaminey’ star, she commented on Shahid’s nerdy look and said he was not looking good with the glasses. The actress made sure she watched his full act from backstage.

No guy wants to go out with me anymore – Preity Zinta
Mumbai, Actress-entrepreneur Preity Zinta is starting a new chapter in her life following her breakup with businessman Ness Wadia. The only thing that bothers her are link-ups with co-stars and friends, as a result of which none of her male friends, she says, wants to go out with her.“I’m surrounded by celebrities who are constantly discussing their personal lives. I’m the same Preity Zinta I used to be. You won’t find me discussing my private life in detail. I’m in a very good space right now,” Preity told IANS.“The only problem is any man whom I’m seen with in public is automatically linked with me. I’ve come to a place where none of my male friends wants to go out with me any more! I think I’ll just have to pick my date for the next public event through a contest!” she added laughing.Preity, who is co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab, has to cope up with being linked to not only her co-stars but also cricketers now.“Can you imagine, members of my own team! I’ve always maintained I’d never mix business and pleasure. Now that I’m getting fully into business, I’m narrowing my chances of finding a man. I know I’d never get into criminal activities, so maybe…”Talking about her new equation with former boyfriend Ness Wadia, Preity said: “The media has been trying to find awkwardness in our equation. Why should that be? We’re still good friends. We’re no longer seeing each other. We’re colleagues now.“If ever I’m in a situation, I’m sure he’d watch my back, as I’d watch his. But would people let go of this fascination with the equation between me and Ness? It’s been one year since we broke up.”Preity has been spending a lot of time outside Mumbai and says she goes out of the city to avoid prying eyes.“Whenever I’m not shooting I’m out of the country. Don’t get me wrong. I love Mumbai to death. But tell me what can an actor can do in the city if she isn’t working? I can’t go out partying. I can’t even take a jog. What do I do on a Sunday? I can’t even go out.“Now (after the Ness episode) it’s become worse. I can’t go out with any guy. If I do I’ve to beg some women to come along, otherwise the guy and I get linked up. I can’t handle it any more,” said Preity. She describes her stint at the Harvard Business School as the best time of her life. “I took the plunge in December and went back to school, to Harvard School. Believe you me, it was the most enriching experience of my life. I didn’t do it because I wanted to go back to college. I wanted to learn about business management so I could be a better entrepreneur.”“I had the best time of my life. I felt so proud to see so many young Asian students in Harvard. That was the future…I learnt negotiations and mergers, acquisitions, etc. There were students from all over the world, including, of course Asians. More than just the course, the questions that the students asked were so pertinent.”Preity is ready to get back to films in a big way now. “But as far as my role in the IPL cricket team is concerned it’s all settled down now… My focus is now back to movies. I’m on the verge of signing new films.”She says that 2010 will be a good year for her.“Last year I was too busy experiencing life to talk about it. 2009 was a year of learning for me. Now I reap the dividends of what I learnt. I went back to college.“I wasn’t travelling and nursing a broken heart. Just because I wasn’t giving explanations. The worst you can do to someone who’s recovering from an emotional setback is to crowd them. I should’ve been left alone. It’s like a death in your family.“Those condolence calls just set your teeth on edge. My way of dealing with my breakup was to move on. The Harvard experience really rejuvenated me. I’ve come back a different person. You watch 2010 is going to be the best year of my life. As Mr. (Amitabh) Bachchan would say, it’s going to be mindboggling.”
The book that changed LSD directors myth!
Dibakar is a voracious reader and from his huge list, the book that changed his life and his way of thinking is a relatively unknown work by Joseph Campbell - MYTHS AND MASKS OF GOD.
CHECK OUT: Dibakar's open session for LOVE, SEX AUR DHOKHA!
Says Dibakar, "The book covers mythology from around the world, from ancient to modern India. His book has changed the way I perceive myth in my day-to-day life. For example, in the ancient world, a young boy was put through an elaborate ritual so that he could become a man-that helped him psychologically think that he was a man. But in the world we live in, which is devoid of any myth, we have to redefine everything. What I have realized is that mythology helps us coordinate ourselves better with the mysteries of the world and the society."
Wow, some great thoughts coming from a great person and we will surely check out the book as well as Dibaker's next film, LOVE SEX AND DHOKHA, fondly referred to as LSD by film buffs, who are eagerly awaiting the release.

Kamal Haasan’s new hope on ‘Marmayogi’
Why ‘Ajith Kumar’ cannot be an ‘Aamir Khan’?
“I will not wait for good story” says Vijay
After this he had visited the poor student’s hostel and provided them free lunch and financial aid for some students. While speaking to media, he said,” I had come to Trivandrum for the 75th day celebrations of Pokkiri. After this I have come now.
Of all the films I have acted, I like Pokkiri and Vettaikaran. I cannot differentiate Tamil and Malayalam fans. Both are like husband and wife. They are so fond of me. I will act in Malayalam film if I get a good story. Director is the main reason for a film to be a hit.
Only if the director creates a good story, the film will be a success. Currently I am acting in a film titled Sura. This film will be released during the month of May. I also wanted to act in a different type of role from the usual stereo typed roles.
But I should get the director and producer for this to happen. I don’t have any dream for a particular role. I cannot wait for six months to act in a good story. My wish is to act continuously. I will also be acting in a Malayalam remake film Body Guard.”

Shocking News: Prashanth’s cruelty spoils producer’s life
Producer Ramachandran hails from well-doing family with lots of business to handle. He’s been the most respected person in town. But today, he’sworking as a hotel server for his bread and butter and to educate his son. His parents were the residents of big bungalow in town and today, they’ve rented a small hut-like room right next to the town’s graveyard.
We are sure this should’ve really got you aggressively infuriated about the persons responsible for such cruel acts. It’s none other than actor Prashanth and his father Thyagarajan. The father-son are well known for carrying out such conniving trite right from the beginning and now the revelation of producer reveals their true color.
When Ramachandran approached Prashanth with on offer, he had to pay him Rs.28 Lakhs as advance for a total remuneration of Rs.50 Lakhs. His father Thyagarajan never Okayed any script and finally signed Sundar C.
Has Thyagarajan ever allowed his son Prashanth to look his face completely on the mirror? If he had it done at least once, he wouldn’t have asked the producer to sign Kareena Kapoor to his heroine…. Finally, they signed newcomer from Telugu film industry – Aarthi Agarwal as film’s female lead and the producer was forced to pay a big sum.
Apparently, while shooting for a sequence in Kerala, Prashanth seems to have insisted to pay him some more amounts to buy a mansion along the shores. When Ramachandran couldn’t afford the money on that moment, Prashanth left for Chennai without making any prior notices and the producer had a big loss of Rs.80Lakhs and Aarthi Agarwal returned to USA. Of course, paying her Rs.8Lakhs was a terrible loss again. Somehow, the film was completed and it was Vadivelu who deduced his 4-day salary while Sundar C returned back 1.5Lakhs. Producers’ Council Executivemember Siva Sakthi Pandian has been financially supporting for the education of Ramachandran’s son now.
At last Ramachandran concludes saying – “If I had listened to my father, I would’ve never got myself entangled in such speculative situation… Though the film was successful, the distributors who promised me to helpleft me desolated, except one distributor in Coimbatore…”
Even today, the producer cannot stop tears rolling down his cheeks when he comes across those comedy sequences of Vadivelu over the TV channels…
Prasanna strives as black horse
It was so illustrious with his role-reversal of a baddie in Mysskin’s ‘Anjathey’ and later he stepped out from the idea of picking prototyped roles of a commercial hero. His recent release ‘Naanayam’ portrayed him in an executive role that won more laurels for him across elite audiences.
Now it’s time to keep the audiences of other centres engrossed with his completely contrastive role of ‘Maanja Ravi’ – a ruffian, who feels good for Adharva that he must come up in life.
We, the team of Kollywoodtoday.com convey our wishes for his successful endeavor with these projects to come in future.
Vijay to dance for ‘Ringa Ringa’ in ‘Sura’
Now, he’ll shake his fast legs for this number in Tamil version for Manisharma’s musical spell in his 50th film ‘Sura’.
The song doesn’t give more prominence to male voice as it is completely dominated by female. The Telugu song happened to be a highlighting factor in this film as Allu Arjun performed certain dance sequences that Vijay himself will feel so difficult to go along with.
Silambarasan becomes Photo Journalist
When approached Simbhu, he revealed a surprising news that it’s all about rehearsing for his upcoming film ‘Ko’.
The film is directed by K.V. Anand and is churned out by producer of Simbhu’s yet-to-release ‘Vinnaithnadi Varuvaaya’…
It seems that Simbhu takes on the role of a professional photo journalist and major portion of the film will be shot across the locales of China… Radha’s daughter Karthika stars opposite Simbhu in female lead role while Ajmal takes up a baddie role in the film…
The film’s shooting will commence shortly in China and Harris Jayaraj has completed turning melodies for ‘Ko’…

Vikram speaks about director Bala
Vikram who had acted in Bala’s two films said,” I am so happy that Bala has got the best director National Award for his film Naan Kadavul. I felt like that I have got the award. Bala should have got the award for his film Sethu itself.
Though it was his first film Bala did not behave like that he was a new director. He had so confidence. In the first day shooting, the scene was I was to kidnap Abita. He instructed “Walk like this” “Stand here” “Then go there fast” and “Speak like this”.
He had so confidence in his profession. During the shooting of Sethu, he use to say like a prophet,” At this scene you will get applause from the audience” and the audience will applaud for this dialogue. After the release of the film Sethu, I went to the theatre to watch this film.
Whatever scenes Bala told that the audience will applaud, it happened. After this I worked with Bala in the film Pithamaghan. He never told me the whole story when I signed the film. He said,” This is your character. You will not speak. Your friend will be murdered.
What you do is the story of this film. You will get National Award.” Only this much he spoke about Pithamaghan. A director who has confidence in his story and the method he shoots can only speak like this. Every actor has acted well in Bala’s film. It is Bala who can bring out the acting skill of an actor. This award itself is little delayed for Bala. But however this award will form the basis for other awards.”
