The book that changed LSD directors myth!

An intellectual in the real sense, director Dibakar Banerjee of KHOSLA KA GHOSLA, the national award winning OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE! and the upcoming, highly interestingLOVE SEX AND DHOKA fame, is now a respected name, as far as the niche audience is concerned. His films reflect his maturity, intelligence and intellectual capabilities and so its not difficult to guess that Dibakar's influences in his filmmaking are very inspired by books, which (as the saying goes), maketh a man!
Dibakar is a voracious reader and from his huge list, the book that changed his life and his way of thinking is a relatively unknown work by Joseph Campbell - MYTHS AND MASKS OF GOD.
CHECK OUT: Dibakar's open session for LOVE, SEX AUR DHOKHA!
Says Dibakar, "The book covers mythology from around the world, from ancient to modern India. His book has changed the way I perceive myth in my day-to-day life. For example, in the ancient world, a young boy was put through an elaborate ritual so that he could become a man-that helped him psychologically think that he was a man. But in the world we live in, which is devoid of any myth, we have to redefine everything. What I have realized is that mythology helps us coordinate ourselves better with the mysteries of the world and the society."
Wow, some great thoughts coming from a great person and we will surely check out the book as well as Dibaker's next film, LOVE SEX AND DHOKHA, fondly referred to as LSD by film buffs, who are eagerly awaiting the release.
