Akshay-Priyan keep success record intact!

The association between actor Akshay Kumarand director Priyadarshan that started way back in 2000 with the iconic comedy, HERA PHERI, continues even today and it's a record in itself that all the projects of the Priyan-Akki team have yielded successful results.
CHECK OUT: No one questions when WANTED or GHAJINI are remade
HERA PHERI, that saw the first time teaming of Akshay and Priyan was a surprise success and established Akshay Kumar as an actor with definite comic potential. Then came GARAM MASALA in 2005 which turned out to be quite a good hit and this was followed by BHAGAM BHAG in 2006 which completed a hat trick of successes for the team. 2007 saw Akki-Priyan come up with comic-horror-thriller, BHOOL BHULAIYAA, and once again the team hit the jackpot. What must be kept in mind is that the team achieved the feat despite a lot of criticism and bad reviews which has become a part and parcel of all Priyan-Akki project (even HERA PHERI, when it released!).
Much in the same way, Priyan's DE DANA DAN, which released during the second Eid, was trashed by the critics but it is on course to emerge as more than an above average, which is no mean achievement, considering the cost of the film. The movie which was hyped as a sequel to HERA PHERI, as it saw the return of the trio; Akshay-Sunil-Paresh has grossed an estimated 49-50 crores from India and is certainly another triumph for the Priyan-Akki team.
