Abhay Deol - the thinker's actor has hopeful dreams for the nation and he plans to fulfill these dreams with a social organization called the Video Volunteers - that encourage the backward to express themselves through documentaries and films.
We come to hear that for a while now the unconventional actor had conceptualized a cause somewhere on these lines and while attending a conference in Mysore met people from Video Volunteers who explained to him the concept of what they do.

"It was something I had thought of a couple of years ago and Jessica (of Video Volunteers) was doing the same with good results" says Abhay Deol.
Abhay Deol through Video Volunteers hopes to provide these backward people with a means of employment-most of whom he anticipates will be journalists.
Says Abhay, "I don't want them to get into entertainment journalism as it isn't their area. The volunteers are into community service. Maybe they'll make documentaries. The possibilities are endless and the idea is to provide them with a means of livelihood"
