Dibakar: LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA is very human & rooted

Dibakar Banerjee, director of KHOSLA KA GHOSLA and National Award winning OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE, is ready with his latest offering LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA. A digital film with (clich�d as it may sound) a hidden camera playing a character by itself, LSD features a bunch of newcomers with no mainstream trappings to it. Also, sex and voyeurism form a major driving force of the narrative of this film.

While the film does promise to unveil some hard hitting facts around camera following an individual's life, this is not the first time when Bollywood has attempted a film around this theme. Years back Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Neha Dhupia had found themselves trapped (well literally) in an atrocious film called TEESRI AANKH - THE HIDDEN CAMERA which had pornography as it's central element. Director duo of Abbas and Mustan too holds the distinction of making Bollywood's first mainstream film with a hidden camera turning out to be fourth element in the love triangle of NAQAAB (which featured Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Urvashi Sharma). With both films finding outright rejection from audiences, despite conflicting quality of content, one wonders what gave Dibakar a confidence to explore this genre further.
"Arrey yaar, the oldest stories in the world are those that revolve around sex, betrayal and desire", laughs Dibakar, "This is why I have made sure that keeping aside the entire treatment factor and the technology involved in driving it, the three stories which are told in LSD are all human and rooted. This is a film where I want those audiences to check it out who are interested and curious about their own society. If you are one of those people who like novelty, innovation and some new expressions in story telling, LSD is the one for you. Once you step in, you would realize that though story telling and technique is new, the stories are time immemorial."
