Is the title an issue for MY NAME IS KHAN?

MY NAME IS KHAN is in the line of fire and the very element of KHAN, its USP, seems to be the bone of contention here. While Karan Johar, Shah Rukh and Co. are fighting the battle to ensure that the film sees a timely global release, many out there are left wondering if MY NAME IS KHAN was indeed the right title of the film. For a movie that deals with a topical issue, hasn't the title turned out to be a two edged sword? After all one slight error and the daggers were always expected to be out.

"Honestly, I don't over calculate any strategy. While deciding upon the title, I just went by my gut and decided on something which brings to fore the spirit of the film and the story that I wanted to tell. Everything was decided in the true earnest. The right title of the film was and stays on as MY NAME IS KHAN", says Karan Johar who continues to be defiant in spite of all the noise around him that was simply unwarranted at this juncture when the film is ready for release.
"Movies are such an interesting means of communication and I felt that as a film maker, if I could express my thoughts on this subject in a cinematic narrative, it would be a big high", says Karan who is exploring a new territory for himself in MY NAME IS KHAN, "Cinema is such an impressionable medium and I am using it as a platform to bring in a different texture."
