Konkona Sen: You can't always chill out in a comedy

Konkona Sen Sharma, acting in a film is always a serious business, regardless of the genre. Since ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE is an out and out comedy, one would have assumed that along with Ajay Devgn, Paresh Rawal and others, Konkona must have truly let her hair down. After all for any actor, a comedy is so much fun to be a part of isn't it?
"I don't think that can really be the case actually", negates Konkona, "Whether a film is a comedy or a tragedy, the kind of work involved is just the same. It's not that just because a film is a comedy, you can afford to chill out. The effort involved is just the same. Also, if a film is a serious affair, it isn't as if you would stay on to be glum and sad throughout the shoot."

It has been often said that so many actors don't just live the character on the sets but also carry it back home. Wasn't that the case with Konkona when she was working on ATITHI....?
"If you ask me, I look at film making as a very detached process and fragmented process. This is why whether it is ATITHI TUM KAB JAAOGE? or any other film that I have done; I haven't got into such a situation where I had to live that character 24X7", Konkona says with a straight face.
Directed by Ashwani Dhir of ONE TWO THREE fame, ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE is an Amita Pathak production. With music by Pritam and lyrics by Irshad Kamil, the film is seeing a 5th March release.
