Ever since it was announced that Shahid Kapoor would be working in his dad Pankaj Kapoor's debut directorial venture, there have been speculations galore around the leading lady of the film. While not many established names have made the rounds so far, grapevine had insisted that Shahid's girl in the film would be a new face.
This is how names like Shatrughan Sinha�s daughter Sonakshi Sinha, Sharon Prabhakar�s daughter Shazahn Padamsee and Govinda�s daughter Narmada were being discussed in the industry circles. However, the star of KAMINEY and JAB WE MET laughs away the insinuations and clarifies once and for and all that none of the aforementioned names were ever auditioned. Not just that, Shahid Kapoor has also declared that the leading lady has already been finalized and her identity would be revealed to media 'very soon'.

"It is amusing when you hear so much being spoken about your film and the cast when the reality is something different. Even I read about this that Sonakshi, Shazahn and Narmada were auditioned for the film. Well, the fact though is that no one, and let me reemphasize again, no one has been auditioned at all for MAUSAM. Whatever is being heard or spoken about is plain speculation. On the contrary we have already finalized the leading lady for the film", says Shahid Kapoor, hence putting yet another rumour about him to end.
Shahid also adds that the title MAUSAM too hasn't been finalized. "This is just a working title. Everything else related to the film has been locked and we would be making a final announcement around the cast and the crew very soon. For the moment, this is all that I can commit."
