Vishal Krishna is the Playboy! After quite a few years of no holds barred action, the tall and dark actor is now trying to woo the fairer sex through Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai (TVP). The title itself suggests the kind of character that Vishal is attempting in this movie. Confirmation can be had from the fact that three ladies are being paired around him in the flick. So, where did the idea of a shift in genres spring from Vishal? Maybe it was the realization that too much of one particular thing is not too good for one’s career. His last two releases were not the best things to happen in his career and perhaps all these things fuelled him towards taking a decision to try out something drastically different.Directed by newcomer Thiru (son-in law of Agathiyan), TVP tells the story of a young man who wants nothing but the best out of everything in life and that includes love. Now, does the quest for the best land him in a soup with all three ladies, is a love rectangle formed and how does he manage the three women in his life?At the outset it does look like a rom-com with lots of confusion and frolic thrown in for good measure. But we do not know whether the crew has other elements mixed in it for us. Prakash Raj’s presence in a role that looks loud, boisterous and over the top will surely be one to watch out for. And, with the presence of ladies like Neethu Chandra, Tanushree Dutta and Sarah Jane Dias, two of them already known for their glamorous roles up North, oodles of glamour is to be expected in TVP though we haven’t got much confirmation from trailers or promos.Another high point of the movie is its music. Scored by Yuvan, the ‘Poo Mudhal Penn Varai’ song has already captured the imagination of youngsters which augurs well for the movie. The picturisation of the songs has reportedly been carried out on a lavish scale to provide visual pleasure. And, with Sun Pictures already on the publicity job, TVP does look like it is going to have a good game at the box office.Vishal needs the hit after consecutive disappointments in Sathyam and Thoranai . Let’s hope that TVP puts the Puratchi Thalapathi back on the hit list.
