Charmi turns against Mayagadu producer

South India’s charming beauty Charmi has lodged a complaint with the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) against Yalamanchi Ravichand, maker of her unreleased film Mayagadu, alleging that he has been harassing her for the last few months by making obscene phone calls and comments at her.(Mayagadu was completed two years back, but it did get released due to lack of buyer interest.)
Charmi has asked MAA to intervene and take serious action against the producer. Meanwhile, Yalamanchi Ravichand has rubbished her allegations and also complained with the Telugu Film Producers’ Council, alleging that the actress is demanding extra remuneration to promote Mayagadu.
“Charmi did not accept to participate in the promotional work of the film, which was covered in her agreement. As I suffered huge losses due to non-release of the film, I approached the actress with a request to participate in the promo work, but she refused. She took huge amounts in the name of purchasing costumes, but she used her own costumes. On several occasions, she came to the sets very late, leading to financial losses,” he said.
