You have heard about actors trying to raise social awareness on various issues. But, this time, the actors are not just talking but making it happen too. Take the example of veteran actors Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia. The two can go to any length to make socially relevant statements not just for the heck of it, but in order to convey across the moot point.
Recently while shooting for their film TUM MILO TOH SAHI, Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia struck upon a novel idea to conserve fuel as well as time. The two who were shooting in Madh Island for the film decided to use the ferry route instead of driving to their sets just to make a statement that they care for the environment.
According to our sources, "Both Dimple Kapadia and Nana Patekar believe in contributing a little towards raising awareness about the environment. Since, they are tied with their shoots most of the time; they hardly can go out and reach people directly. So, recently, the two decided that they can do away with their vehicles in order to save fuel and decided to ferry to their sets. Initially, we all were a bit surprised by this sudden gesture because the ferry is without any basic comforts like an air-conditioner, but later the actors made it clear that they are doing so in order to play their small role in making this planet a better place."
Well, the act might be really small and sweet, but this symbolic gesture goes on to prove that when it comes to raising awareness about social issues some of our actors can actually walk the talk.
