If first timer Milind Gadagkar is to be believed, he had complete freedom to directPHOONK 2 even though Ram Gopal Varma, the man who had made the first in the series of PHOONK, was presenting the film."Really, beyond giving a nod of approval to PHOONK 2 and promising to present it, there was very little involvement from Ramu during the shooting of the film. After I wrote the first draft of the film, he left it all completely to me", states Milind who is the writer of both PHOONK and PHOONK 2, "He said that this film was my chance to make it the way I wanted. It was as simple as that. But no, it wasn't a challenge or anything. His decision wasn't based on a ground that now I should better his effort."

The film begins from the point where first in the series, PHOONK, ended.
"In fact while I was shooting for the film, Ramu was in Hyderabad shooting for RAKTA CHARITRA. I was given complete freedom to take PHOONK 2 forward in the way I wanted to. Ramu had a lot of faith and trust in me. Now, he may be involved in the film's post production which is fair", informs Milind.
Featuring the original star cast of Sudeep, Amruta Khanvilkar and Ahsaas Channa, PHOONK 2 also sees the inclusion of Neeru Singh & Amit Sadh in the cast.
All set for release on 16th April, PHOONK 2 is produced by P. Chandrashekhar and Prashant Burra, who are Ramu's relatives.
