Satish Kaushik: TANSEN was never shelved

Ever since the news came out about TANSEN been revived, there has been a renewed interest within the industry about this Rajshri Productions film which would have film maker Satish Kaushik at the helm of affairs. Launched close to two years back, it was put on a backburner and even rumoured to be shelved at one point in time.

However, the film is back in the reckoning now and director Satish Kaushik has gone on record to state that the film is certainly on. "TANSEN was never shelved. Yes, recession hit the entire industry pretty hard and since Barjatyas never wanted to compromise on the quality and overall look of the film (rightly so), we kept TANSEN on hold. However, things have started looking better now and it is one of my much cherished dreams to make TANSEN."
He continues, "However, it isn't as if the film is suddenly being brought out of cold storage. Though there was a momentary gap of close to a year w.r.t. the film being brought on floors, there was a lot happening in the background. We used this time to tighten the script. The production house and I were in constant touch throughout and along with Irshad Kamil, who is writing the script, we are going all out to make TANSEN a mega venture."
Well, with the film maker sounding pretty confident about TANSEN, one would certainly wait and watch to gather more details around the cast (which was originally rumoured to be spearheaded by Abhishek Bachchan) and plans for film's shooting.
