Rajshri Productions' much coveted film TANSEN is all set to be revived. After a brief period of slowdown when the biggest of the projects were being kept on hold, TANSEN is one of the first films to see a green signal coming its way with director Satish Kaushik going out to make this big budgeted period drama a memorable affair.Says Satish Kaushik, "Recession had started showing its ugly face and had started making its presence felt in Bollywood towards the latter half of 2008. Number of films were hit by slowdown and as months progressed, situation in Bollywood only worsened. By the time mid 2009 arrived, there were dozens of disasters that piled up in Bollywood which meant that there was no further progress on TANSEN. It was a wait and watch game for everyone involved since TANSEN was supposed to be a big budget extravaganza."
Also, it was pretty much in the anvil that normally cost conscious Barjatyas were going all out with TANSEN and planning to pitch it as one of the costliest Hindi films to be ever made. Though there was no formal announcement, Satish Kaushik was finalized as the man who would ride the show as the director. Also, at the time, Bollywood was going through its best phase. However, with recession looming large, the plans were on hold.
The current piece of iformation indicates good progress for TANSEN which was almost lost in oblivion over all these months. "Yes, we are definitely going ahead with TANSEN and we should be hearing some formal announcements soon", concludes Kaushik.
