Thamarai denies writing dialogues for Mani’s film

Lyricist Thamarai’s answer is a big no to reports that she would pen dialogues for Mani Ratnam’s forthcoming movie, which the ace filmmaker would start immediately after completing ‘Raavan’.
“I don’t want to diversify at this point of time. My job is to write lyrics and I am content as a poet. I just don’t want to throw away the position I have achieved after putting in much time and hardwork,” says the ‘Anal maley pani thuli….’ writer.
On delivering chartbusters in association with Gautam Vasudev Menon, right from ‘Minnnale’ days, she says, “because the director is clear about his demands. He speaks to me a lot about his films and characters before I take the pen. This makes me understand the script well and come out with good lyrics.”
Happy about working with A R Rahman for ‘Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya’, Thamarai says, “though I had already penned lyrics for Rahman’s tunes, this is the first time to work with him for a Gautam’s movie. Also, VTV is the music composer’s first Tamil film after winning the Oscars.”
