One woman Amy

Meet Amy Jackson, who is making her Kollywood debut with ‘Madharasapattinam’. A native of Liverpool, England, she is playing the 18-year-old daughter of the Governor of Madras in the period movie starring Arya in the lead role.
“My character name is Amy Wilkinson. While my father and step-mother hate Indians, I fall in love with an Indian youngman (Arya),” the actress throws light on the film and adds: “My role is so meaty and the climax is one of my favourite scenes.”
On working with Arya, she says, “Though he is a leading star here, he’s been really sweet and helpful to me. We are good friends now and I admire him a lot. Equally helpful are other co-stars and technicians.”
Heaping laurels on Vijay, the director of the film, Amy says, “I’ve always wanted to travel to India and act in an Indian film. Vijay made my dream come true, that too by offering such an excellent opportunity. For, ‘Madharasapattinam’ is a marvelous movie.”
