The film is all about crooks and cops, but there was a time when the film’s team needed real guards to be safe from real crooks…
It happened so when the ‘Prince’ team was in Durban for shooting. Being a hotspot for criminals, the production insisted on having bodyguards for every member of the team. Now in the film, Rajesh Khattar is shown as a flamboyant character wearing lots of gold accessories. And amusingly he was accompanied by a gang of bodyguards wherever he went, in spite of him telling them that he is wearing fake jewellery. They would even follow him till his van which will be parked little away from the location.
“I was quite impressed initially,” recalled the actor, “But after a while it became irritating so I told them I’m ok and they really don’t have to escort me. Then they came up with the real reason that they were escorting me for the jewellery I was wearing. As Durban is not very safe they didn’t want to take chances. When I argued that all the jewellery is fake, pat came their reply, that you know it but the chain snatchers don’t.”
Not knowing what to say next, Rajesh had no other way but quietly obliged.a
