Thangar slams Producers Council

A function to launch the audio of the movie 'Aridhu Aridhu' in Chennai today turned out to be a platform for a fiery debate with allegations and counter-allegations.
In his address, cinematographer-producer-director Thangar Bachchan said that film producers were in financial dire straits and were reeling under hardship.
Alleging that the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has not done anything to benefit the producers, Thangar Bachchan wondered aloud whether it existed or not.
Reacting to this, an angry Sivasakthi Pandian, secretary of the council, demanded Thangar Bachchan to exercise caution while speaking in public fora.
Pandian said, "Thangar Bachchan should stop making wild allegations. He has never visited the council office and was not part of any activities taken by the association for the welfare of producers. On many occasions, we have redressed the grievances of producers".
Directors Shankar, Lingusamy and Madhesh, council president Rama Narayanan, FEFSI president V C Guhanathan and music director Thaman were present on the occasion.
