AJAB PREM...all set for a record first week

AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI is fast entering the record books. With first weekend collections being out and the weekdays looking strong as well, the film is now one of the top openers of all times and could well turn out to be the big money spinner of the year if it trends well over next couple of weeks.
As per the collections made available, this Raj Kumar Santoshi directed film has already netted 25 crores by Sunday just from the domestic market. This is a shot in the arm for Santoshi whose last success KHAKEE had made this kind of money in its entire lifetime run.

AJAB PREM...stood its ground on Monday as well, hence placing a seal on its eventual box office fate which is all set to be at least a HIT. The way AJAB PREM... has been performing, a total of 40 crores net from the first week looks quite probable. Since there isn't any competition this Friday (both TUM MILE and AAO WISH KAREIN are medium budget films), there would be space for AJAB PREM... to continue raking in moolah, hence bringing in closer to the 60 crores + collections of LOVE AAJ KAL and WANTED the biggest films of 2009.
Rajkumar Santoshi proudly declares, "Normally it is seen that the biggest of films take a dip on the weekdays. It hasn't happened for AJAB PREM...which has been performing quite consistently after a fantastic first weekend. The film is generating a lot of repeat value that should make the second weekend bountiful as well."
