Kareena Kapoor: People will weep with Avantika

KURBAAN is touted to be an intense film with a contemporary theme to it. Considering this fact, was a backless shot for the publicity poster really required? Wasn't any other means to showcase what KURBAAN is all about thought of?
'On the contrary this shot of me in a backless posture and Saif with a wound on his chest tells so much about the film's theme', defends Kareena, 'There is love, passion and violence - all combined in here and what better way than to show it through a single still. You too would agree that there is nothing sleazy or vulgar about it. Knowing the sensibilities of Karan Johar (producer) and Rensil D'Silva (director), that's the least one could have expected.'
KURBAAN is one of those meaningful commercial cinemas that Kareena is proud to have been a part of. Visibly delighted about the prospects of audiences seeing her in a different light after this film, Kareena announces that the film would make everyone stand up and notice.
CHECK OUT: KURBAAN is one of the finest films ever
'I am sure people will weep with Avantika; such strong is her characterization', she says
Kareena Kapoor plays the role of a professor (named Avantika) in KURBAAN who gets married to another professor (played by Saif Ali Khan). They both move to New York after marriage but as the series of events unfold, she finds herself into a vortex of danger and intrigue. As her life spirals out of control, she further realizes that she is a pawn in a huge game and no one could be trusted.
Also starring Vivek Oberoi, Om Puri, Kirron Kher and Dia Mirza, KURBAAN has music by Salim-Sulaiman and is releasing all over on 20th November.
