The dust has settled down on all the controversy around Padma Shri award being granted to Saif Ali Khan. The actor too has moved on to get the pre production in place for his mega project AGENT VINOD and Bollywood too has moved its focus onMY NAME IS KHAN amongst other things.
However, Saif Ali Khan fondly remembers how he found support coming all the way from Amitabh Bachchan who has gone through his fair share of controversies in a 40 year film career. The legendary actor was not just the first to congratulate Saif Ali Khan for the award; he also advised him to take it easy, cherish the moment and allow the dust to settle down on its own.
CHECK OUT: Now, I want to do a romantic comedy
"We hear about some random noises here and there but the fact is that there has been a lot of support. There are lots of people who complimented me. Mr. Bachchan messaged me and told me to accept the award with all the humility. I did tell him that I always felt I didn't deserve it. However, he told me to just enjoy the moment without thinking much. He said that it's all about leveling out and that would eventually be the case a few years down the line", says Saif who does indeed believe in the 'leveling out' theory, since he has a first hand experience in that. A few years back, the world stood up for him with his bravura performance in OMKARA as 'Langda Tyagi'. However, awards at the highest level eluded him.
"The trouble is that some choices are a bit obvious than others. OMKARA could have been obvious and perhaps a film like LOVE AAJ KAL wasn't. But then all this talking that we are having now can't really be expected to change the fact, can it", questions Saif before signing off.
