ATITHI: Great debut for producer Amita Pathak

Amita Pathak, the pretty daughter of Kumar Mangat, rose to fame with the non happening HAAL-E-DIL. Though the film did not do as well as expected, two names that made headlines and came in for a lot of praise were its lead actors, Adhyayan Suman, son of actor Shekhar Suman and of course the soft spoken Amita.
CHECK OUT: ATITHI's 'Jyoti Jalaile' an instant hit
However, not much has been heard about the actress ever since and it was quite a pleasant surprise to see her donning the hat of a producer for the
Ajay Devgan,Konkona Sen Sharma and Paresh Rawal starrer, ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE?, along with Warner Bros. The first time producer must be delighted to see her labour of loveATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE? triumph at the ticket window and pass the litmus test. ATITHI... has already netted around 16 crores in its opening week from India and is doing quite well even in the second. No mean achievement this in the wake of the IPL fever. So, is it now good bye to her career as an actress? Well, in one of her latest interviews, Amita has clarified that she will continue to pursue her acting career, despite loving her role of a producer. She discloses that she essays the lead in Priyadarshan's GARAM HAWA, which also stars Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu. She goes on to add that she will continue to act as well as produce films. The able actress who learnt acting from the likes of the famous acting guru, Kishore Namit Kapoor, dancing from the one and only Shiamak Dawar and the art of film making from her famous producer father, Kumar Mangat, certainly deserves another chance and we are sure that Priyadarshan is the one. Priyan could provide her with just the right platform.
Wishing this beauty with brains all the very best!
