India's leading production house Percept Picture Company and prolific filmmaker Priyadarshan have signed a three-film deal after giving hits like MALAMAAL WEEKLY, DHOL and the critically acclaimed KANCHIVARAM.The deal was signed last week and the films are called AIDS, GRRR... and a sequel to his 2006 release MALAMAAL WEEKLY. Priyan and Percept have a long standing relationship.
Apart from that, the next in the pipeline is BUMM BUMM BOLE... with Darsheel Safary, Atul Kulkarni and Rituparna Sen Gupta, which he is currently directing.
Also, this is te first time that he is making a sequel to any film. Starting with a sequel to MALAMAL WEEKLY directed by Priyadarshan which was a comedy of errors set on a rural backdrop went to win hearts of many at the box office and also garnered significant profits. Starring - Paresh Rawal, Riteish Deshmukh, Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav amongst others.
