SHAAPIT heroine not worried about IPL competition

Last year there were no significant releases when IPL was underway. However, things seem to be taking a turn for the better this year with Season 3 of IPL already underway. Bollywood has smartened up and it is not allowing itself to be exhumed in the manner of the year gone by. It is making best use of the six weeks made available for itself before IPL concludes and biggies start making the round of theaters once again. However, smaller and medium budget films aren't willing to be steamrolled later in the day when audience would have a choice to pick between the top stars/banners and them.
This is why next week, there is a heady mix of genres with some repute attached to the films that are all arriving in one go. These are LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA, LAHORE, MITTAL V/S MITTAL & IDIOT BOX with the biggest of them all beingSHAAPIT - a film which is touted as Vikram Bhatt's third in his horror trilogy after RAAZ and 1920. No wonder, its lead actress Shweta Agarwal is mighty positive that the film will do well.

"IPL is beginning 12th March but that doesn't mean that people should stop releasing their films. Now it is cricket, then there would be soccer and after that some other sport. All of these are popular but then not all the audiences are so sports crazy. They want to watch films also naa", exclaims Shweta.
Tell her that T20 has its own loyal set of followers and she says in an animated tone, "Arrey, please don't put this doubt in the mind. See, the fact is that when IPL happens, people get into the groove only after 10-15 days. Perhaps around the super eight, semi finals and finals people get actively involved. But SHAAPIT is releasing much before that so I am not worried."
Well, we love this confidence. Here is hoping that box office speaks the same language when SHAAPIT arrives all over on 19th March.
