Shah Rukh's dual Khan triumph!

Our headlines are certainly not hinting at what you cricket lovers are thinking as we are not talking about the two scintillating triumphs of Shah Rukh Khan's cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders over the current IPL champions Deccan Chargers and runners up Royal Challenger's Bangalore. Rather, it's related to cinema, and only cinema, our portal's only passion!
Not many will realize that true to his surname Khan, Bollywood's first truly global super star,
Shah Rukh Khan has come up trumps twice when he had essayed the character of a 'Khan'. Of course everyone will easily remember the lovable, innocent, straight forward and down right human character of Rizwan Khan in the recent hit, MY NAME IS KHAN. The film has netted close to 74 crores and is most likely to fold up with 75 crores in its kitty from India. Of course the overseas triumph of MY NAME IS KHAN is historic and has been done to death with and we are not taking that into account.
CHECK OUT: Look who wants Shahrukh to kick butt?
Another Khan character recently essayed by Shah Rukh that was received with open arms by the audience was the iconic CHAK DE! INDIA. Shah Rukh's role of Kabir Khan as the coach of the Indian national women's hockey team was and is still hailed as one of his best ever. The 'baadshah' essayed the character of the serious, no nonsense, patriotic and strong willed coach to perfection and the film went on to do a business of 62 crores, which when we take into account that CHAK DE was not a mainstream commercial cinema, is simply fantastic.
Another point worth noting is that in both the cases, where Shah Rukh essayed a 'Khan' character, he received standing ovation (at the end) for his portrayal and both the roles will go down in history as two of his best performances ever.
Here's hoping that Shah Rukh continues to regale us with his performances, be it as Khan, Kapoor or Kumar!
