SHAAPIT has released and has managed to scrape through at the box office. While quite a few reviews too have been in a positive direction, there has been mixed response as far as the lead pair of the film is concerned. A few believe that debutants Aditya Narayan and Shweta Agarwal haven't quite managed to make a similar impact as was the case in RAAZ (Dino Morea, Bipasha Basu) or 1920 (Rajneesh Duggal, Adah Sharma), both of which had director Vikram Bhatt at the helm of affairs.
"I believe Aditya was always just the right face for SHAAPIT. He was the first and only choice and even after the release of the film, I am very positive about his future. In fact I am surprised when you say that some people have questioned Aditya's talent. That's because from what I have heard ever since the release of the film, he has been appreciated by majority of critics as well as people from the audience. An extremely bright boy, he is a superstar in the making. Moreover, he is a very good singer as well and hence a great package", Vikram talks fondly about his discovery.
CHECK OUT: I will give love a chance
There is also a slight buzz in the industry that it was Udit Narayan's influence that helped Aditya bag SHAAPIT.
"No, that's not true at all", negates Vikram who is fast seeing the crown of 'newcomers' messiah' being bestowed upon him, "Udit Narayan had nothing to with the casting decision for SHAAPIT. Of course since Aditya is his son and I know him (Udit) for decades, I approached him before signing Aditya. But beyond that, there was no interference or influence whatsoever from Udit."
