Endhiran Official Release Date Confirmed on Oct 1

Endhiran will release worldwide on October 1st, 2010, states a press note from its producers – Sun Pictures. The film has created a lot of hype among the masses especially with the audio launch in July and the recent trailer launch.

Yet another major reason for the expectations soaring high is Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai, who shares the screen space with each other for the first time. Shankar has directed this film with music by Oscar winner AR Rahman.

It may be recalled that the film was certified by the Censor Board just a couple of days before.

Anakha says that she is bold

Anakha has created sensation in her first film itself. She donned a controversial role of a daughter-in-law who tries to seduce her father –in-law in the film Sindhu Samaveli. She has made all the eyes look towards her by doing this role.

While speaking to the media, she said,” Basically I am a bold person. My mother and brother had given me this encouragement. I use to take a lot of risks in my young age. This role is one of such risks. Many have asked me that apart from the role being bold was it not a wrong one. Just think. Had I not done this role, some other actress would have done this role and got the applause I have got. As an actress this role gives me self satisfaction.

Once decided to act, it is good for an actress to show their talents in the roles they get. My mother after seeing this film appreciated me. Not only my mother, but my friends and classmates appreciated me. They said one said should have guts to do such kind of roles.

Only the outline of the film was narrated to me. Only after a week’s time I was told the whole story. I was shocked. I was wondering that how people will accept in this role.

But I was able to understand that I got the scope for acting in this role. I had the confidence. My mother also told that this film will earn me a good name. I agreed to do this role.

SNEHA BEING TORTURED

Sneha had filed a case against Ragavendra a year ago for sending her lewd messages and pestering her to marry him. The actress then lodged a complaint and filed a case at the criminal court in Chennai. The case was taken up for hearing recently and Sneha, along with her family and PRO narrated the torture she was subjected to. While she was in the court, stating that Ragavendra still continues to message her, she received an SMS from him yet again which she showed the magistrate. Ragavendra’s advocate, however, objected to the magistrate taking it up as an evidence at this stage of the case to which the magistrate ordered that it will be taken up during the cross examination.

DISAPPOINTMENT FOR VIJAY FANS

Sources in Kollywood report that the Vijay-starrer Kaavalan, initially touted to be a Diwali release, will not turn out to be so. The shooting of Kaavalan is still in progress with director Siddique filming shots involving Asin, Vijay’s lead pair in the film.

Enquiries reveal that there is still some work to be done and the team feels that the film may not be ready for Diwali. Siddique and team are now contemplating on a December release, probably to cash in on the Christmas and New Year rush.

It may be recalled that Kaavalan is Vijay’s 51st film, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard.

Maestro's Yet Another Stroke

Music is his religion, language and universe. Isaignani Ilayaraja has the ruler of music over the ages and even after years of accomplishing with incomparable achievements, his achievements continue. Ilayaraja has been awarded for ‘Best Background Score’ (Pazhasi Raja).

Gleefully speaking to media channels, Ilayaraja said, “I have previously won 3 National awards. But I feel this one to be as special as ‘Background Score’ estimates the real identity of a music director. It was an usual score for Pazhasi Raja that I had composed. But when juxtaposed with the grand visuals shot by Hariharan, I felt there was a sort of irrelevance between music and visuals. Apparently with the request of filmmaker Hariharan, I started composing newfangled music with symphonic orchestration. Today, I stand elated bagging this prestigious award…

Hats Off To Pasanga Team

Pandiraj’s debut directorial ‘Pasanga’ has been continuously fetching greatest honors across the globe. The film had already won 2009 International Children’s Film Festival (Golden Elephant Award for Best Director – Pandiraj, 2009 Chennai International Film Festival (Second Best Feature Film) and 2010 Puducherry Government Awards for Best Feature Film.

Now the entire team celebrates for having won the 57th National Awards for ‘Best Regional Movie’. Pandiraj has won ‘Best Dialogues’ and has been awarded with Rajath Kamal Award and a cash prize of Rs. 50, 000/- while both the kids – Masters Sriram and Kishore with ‘Best Child Artistes’ Award and Best Regional Feature Film (TAMIL) as well.

Court case against Nayanthara & her brother in law!

Actress Nayantahara acted in Tamil film by name Aegan last year with Ajith. The film created a controversy when its posters were deemed too vulgar for even an ordinary man.

This has irked the sentiments of several people and one Mr. Nagaraj has filed a petition in the Criminal Court seeking action against Nayan, Raju Sundaram, the theatre owner Sridharan and the producer. The case was closed recently due to lack of evidence. Following this, Nagaraj has filed a fresh petition seeking a re-investigation against Nayanthara, Ajith and Raju Sundaram. The court has ordered the police to re-investigate and submit a report soon.

Incidentally the director of the film, Raju Sundaram, is now slated to become her brother in law after she marries Prabhu Deva!

Seetha enters Wedlock

Wedding bells rang for the second time for Seetha when she married her longtime friend and television actor Satheesh at a private function in Chennai. The wedding was attended by her parents and close relatives.

The actress, who married actor-director Parthiban, more than a decade ago, got divorce following difference of opinion. From then, she has been concentrating on her acting career again, by playing pivotal roles in television serials.

It was at the shoot of one such serial she met Satheesh, circles close to her say. “What started as friendship slowly blossomed as love and both decided to marry at one point of time. With the blessings of elders, they are a happy couple now.”

Says Seetha, “I am happy about my life. Satheesh is a gentleman who understands me and cares for me a lot. A woman should be in the company of a man in her life for many reasons. Satheesh is a nice companion.”

Action King Arjun in Fvie Roles

Action King Arjun is trying his skills in donning multiple characters in a single film. Inspired by Kamal Haasan in 'Dasavatharam', Arjun is playing five characters in his upcoming movie 'Vallakottai'.

A dark labourer, Anjeneya and a Red India are important three. Director Venkatesh says Arjun has handled the different get ups very professionally and assures the audience will like them.

‘Vallakottai ‘was to have been completed days ago but was delayed because of the death of Murali. Venkatesh said that they were ready to can the final fight sequence at the Binny Mills when they heard the bad news about Murali. They stopped the shooting as soon as they heard the news and resumed it just a couple of days ago. With that the entire shooting for ‘Vallakottai’ is complete.

Director Venkatesh further said the movie will hit the theatres in October and he has committed to do another film with Action King Arjun as his next. Action-Action matches again.

Prabhu Deva’s diwife accepts his money offer!

Prabhu Deva who is all set to marry Nayanthara, is also all set to get divorce this month end according to Chennai sources.

Prabhu Deva can marry Nayanthara only after he gets official divorce according to Hindu marriage law.Prabhu Deva and Ramlath have decided to part ways with the latter agreeing to the financial deal offered to her.

Prabhu and Ramlath will move to the courts soon to obtain a speedy divorce. A popular actor is reported to have played an important role in the negotiations. Meanwhile, Prabhu’s family is happy to welcome Nayan into their family fold and the wedding bells for Nayan and Prabhu may ring soon.

Kamal Haasan in ‘Four Friends’

We know Kamal Haasan is doing a Malayalam film after a gap of 23 years. The movie is ‘Four Friends’, directed by hit maker Saji Surendran. Ulaga Nayagan is playing a cameo as himself in the film. He looks great in the film. See the picture.

In the film Kamal plays a character that persuades a group of friends including Jayaram, Jayasuriya, Kunchakko Boban and Meera Jasmine to get on to an extraordinary journey that will bring back the charisma of their by gone days.

Though the character is small the scriptwriter Krishna Poojapura has written some very unusual humorous dialogues knowing Kamal’s penchant for comedies.

Kamal has finished his portion of the film and will himself dub in Malayalam. The movie will hit the theatres by the end of this year.

Politician laughs at Nayantara!

Recently Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister, MK Stalin, had the opportunity to watch Nayanthara’s movie ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ which would be dubbed into Telugu as ‘Nene Ambani’ in another few weeks. And while watching the movie, he was seen laughing and couple not help praising Nayanthara and Arya for making his laugh to his heart’s content after a long time! He said that films like these work like stressbusters and every person should see this novel movie!

“I didn’t know that Nayanthara could act in such a comical movie. And Arya is just awesome” he said.

He is one of the busiest persons in Indian cinema. He is a dancing legend, an actor, director, and a top choreographer.

How is the shooting for Urumi progressing?

The shooting is going on briskly and we all are enjoying it. I will be completing this schedule and will be off for the song shoot of the Jayam Ravi-Hansika film that I am directing. The title will be changed from Ich and I will be announcing it soon.

The media has been writing in detail about your affair with Nayanthara. But you have so far refused to talk about it or acknowledge the relationship. Why ?

Throughout my career the media has been writing a lot of things about me, but I have never bothered to react or call a press meet to clarify or issue a denial. As far as Nayanthara is concerned she is special. Yes I am in love with Nayanthara and we will be getting married soon. It’s a personal decision and I don’t like to talk about it to the media. Basically I’m not comfortable opening my heart out to the media.

The grapevine has it that Nayan has quit acting to settle down with you. Please comment?

She’s very contrary to the glam image that you see. She’s a home bird, very simple. Any man who is in love would like to spend more time with his woman . I am no different and there is no meaning in both of us being busy and having no time for each other. She had a beautiful innings and I know very well that she is a top actress who is much in demand.

What is that one defining change that Nayan has brought in you?

(Smiles) It’s not one, there are many. She has stood by me in my difficult times and her support was like an oasis in the desert.

Earlier I was a short-tempered person but now my assistants and friends say that I have mellowed down a lot (Smiles). She is a very strong person and has made me like her. She has taught me how to love each other unconditionally and how to carry myself in public. She is a wonderful human being and I find everything about her lovable.

Rahman's '127 Hours’ on High Betting

A.R. Rahman’s next Hollywood movie ‘127 Hours’ has kept the global audiences intact with bigger expectations. It’s all because of the Oscar winning team coming back together, this time with a different show. ‘127 Hours’ is based on Aron Ralston’s book ‘Between a Rock and a Hard Place’, which revolves around a mountaineer wedged between the rocks and stays alone for the next 5 days. ‘Minsara Kanavu’ Kajol blessed with baby boy

‘Minsara Kanavu’ heroine Kajol delivered her second child this morning at the Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai. The actress did the female lead in Rajeev Menon’s Minsara Kanavu along with Arvind Swamy and Prabhu Deva, a decade back

Kajol is married to Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan and the couple already has a daughter named Nysa, 7 years old.”It’s a wonderful feeling. I can’t express the feeling in words,” said Ajay, after becoming a dad again. “I thank everyone for their blessings and good wishes,” added the actor, speaking from the hospital.

This is a doubly joyful occasion for the couple as the newborn’s arrival coincided with the auspicious Ganpati festival.

Sources close to the couple said the mother and the baby are doing fine.

Two Mistakes of AR Murugadoss

Not many filmmakers do speak of their mistakes; rather they would love to hide them. But A.R. Murugadoss as an elision admits that at times, when he went for wrong options, it was his associate director Saravanan suggesting the changes.

Says Murugadoss: ‘When I wanted to cast an ordinary person for the role of Sardarji police, Saravanan came up with a strong disapproval saying that it is a bad idea. I listened to him and it was a right one. Apparently, when I characterized dual roles in ‘Ghajini’, Saravanan severely opposed it and yet I didn’t listen to him. However after the film’s release, I was bounded to some resentment about dual roles of villain. Eventually I made those corrections in Hindi version and it received surpassing results.’

Of course, these have been the biggest reasons of Saravanan making his debut directorial under the big banners of Fox Star Studios and his mentor’s A.R. Murugadoss Productions.

Sonia Agarwal back to kollywood!

Divorce has not put Sonia Agarwal down. After separating from Selvaraghavan, Sonia was seen at all the major filmy events in good spirits. She also showed her interest to return to films during those times. First there was news from Kasthoori Raja that Sonia will be making her re-entry through one of his films. But now we have confirmed news saying Sonia Agarwal is homecoming with the upcoming film ‘Vaanam’ starring Silambarasan, Prakash Raj, Bharath, Anushka and Sneha Ullal.

In ‘Vaanam’, Sonia plays the wife of Prakash Raj. ‘Vaanam’ is the Tamil remake of the super hot Telugu film ‘Vedam’ directed by Krish. The Tamil version is also directed by Krish himself.

‘Vaanam’ is many stories spun together beautifully. All the stars have equal screen space so Sonia is there to make an impact again. More over Sonia will have a song and more scenes than what was there for her role in the Telugu original.

Interestingly Sonia was approached for the same role when the original ‘Vedam’ was conceived. But she could not take it for private reasons. Sonia‘s last film in Tamil ‘Thiruttu Payale’ was three years ago and it was the biggest hit if that year.

Dhanush back to his work

Actor Dhanush was hospitalized in Chennai recently due to high fever. Now the actor is back home, fit and healthy. He recently tweeted, "Hey guys I'm back after a very bad week of health !! Yeah guys I'm better !! Can't work 4 another week ! Nadal winning is my only medicine !!"

Dhanush is currently busy with Maapillai opposite Hansika Motwani, Vettrimaran's Aadukalam, Selvaraghavan's Maruvan and Uthamaputhiran opposite Genelia.

Emcee Jesz records for Tamil film

He was in Chennai recently to record for composer Harris Jayaraj, among other things.

He rapped for a full-fledged English song that'll feature in Prabhu Deva's upcoming flick, and understandably, Emcee Jesz is super excited about it. "Harris has always used me very differently in his tracks. In this number, I rap fully in English. The track is a proper hip-hop and RNB number," states the musician.

It has been excellent. He's a brilliant composer-cum-engineer. I love the fat mixing and mastering quality in his music. This time, I'm recording three songs for him, including two for Ko.

Rap in Kollywood

... provides a nice flavour to the numbers as the Tamil audiences are used to listening to love numbers and kuthu songs. Tamil rap has become a trend now and I'm happy that my album Kavithai Gundar was a huge hit last year. Rap has got attitude, meaning and style; it just gels well in any kind of music and boosts it up.

Of kuthu and rap When rap blends with other genres, it helps the album musically. Till now, Tamil rap has been mixed with kuthu songs and my four songs in this blend have been featured in Kuruvi and Maasilamani.

Inspiration My role model for hip-hop music is Dr Dre from the United States. His music made me get into rap music deeply and helped me a lot. He is a hardworking rap musician with 'street attitude'!

Lyrical variety I love Vijay Antony's unique style of using new words in his songs. I've just worked with him for a song in Uthama Putthiran. Other than that, I'm also working with D Imman in Valluvar Kottam.

National Award For Amitabh,llayaraja & 'Pasanga'

The 57th National award winners have been announced and Maestro Ilayaraja has won the award for the Best Background score for his efforts in Pazhassi Raja. Incidentally Ilayaraja is the first winner of the award in this category which has been introduced only this year. This will be his fourth National award after Sindhu Bhairavi, Rudraveena and Saagara Sangamam. The best music director (songs) award has been given to Amit Trivedi for the Hindi movie Dev D.

Deepika Padukone Ex BoyFriend Nihar Pandya In A Film

Himesh Reshammiya's estranged friend, Prashant Chadha, is directing Rome The Real Dope On Romeo starring Deepika Padukone's ex-boyfriend, Nihar Pandya. The interesting bit about the flick is that certain scenes have been inspired from Nihar's real-life break-up.

Says a source connected to the film, "The hero's first scene starts with a monologue in front of the mirror where he talks about worshipping his girlfriend for four years and then, being dumped unceremoniously in favour of a more successful man. He then starts his search for a famous lover, Romeo."

Prashant says, "The film is about the journey of a rich young man who gets dumped by his girlfriend. He then starts his journey from Rome through Italy in search of Romeo who is a successful lover, while he couldn't be. I will be casting a known actress from B-Town and a foreign actress."

Prashant admits that Rome has been inspired from Nihar's real life. "Nihar's first scene depicts his state after he is jilted. Though people have tagged Nihar as a Casanova, it's not true.

Rome will show the truth of what happened. My ideal cast for Nihar's character's ex-girlfriend in Rome would be Deepika herself, though I am yet to approach her. Nihar knows what the story and screenplay are and he's comfortable playing a large portion of his real life on screen."Prashant is also directing an untitled film with Sachin Joshi and Candice Boucher.

Aishwarya Rai Dance With Rajinikanth Her New Movie

Age is just a number! When it comes to dedication towards work, Rajnikanth who is sixty can even try to learn a new dance form. For Endhiran, the superstar did the funk style dance called ‘popping’ with Aishwarya Rai.

What is popping? It is a kind of street dance which is based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer’s body. Sounds tough, doesn’t it! But Ash and Rajini were game for it. Yes, apart from Rajini, choreographer Remo D'Souza taught the dance to Ash as well. Like Rajini, the actress too is trying out popping for the first time. Mallika Sherawat Frist Time Sings In Bollywood Movie

Everybody knows that actress Mallika Sherawat is a bold and beautiful girl but not many know that she has a good voice too. The good news is that she has sang two songs for her much-hyped film Hissss.It is said that she recorded a song composed and arranged by John Lennon's son Julian Lennon, in a studio in Los Angeles before she headed back to Mumbai. The song will be used for the film once Julian approves it. She also has recorded a song composed by German composer Alexander Von Bubenheim, who provided the background score for Hissss. It is expected to be released in the middle of this month.

Mallika confirmed that she had sung a song composed by Julian Lennon, son of the legendary Beatles singer John Lennon. She added that her film Hissss has special background score by German maestro Alexander Von Bubenheim.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan organised a special screening of his much-hyped film Dabangg last Saturday. From what we hear, this proxy rivalry was set off by Katrina’s decision to walk out of Abbas-Mastan’s next thriller, a remake of The Italian Job, that stars Ash’s hubby Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Omi Vaidya (Chatur of 3 Idiots). Though the official reason of Kat’s exit is being described as ‘dates problem’, it’s believed that she bowed out of the project because Abhishek hasn’t had a good track record at the box office lately (blame it on the debacle of Raavan). Rumour has it that Kat’s walk-out hasn’t gone down well with the Bachchans, and Ash is now prodding her hubby to get even by opting out of Dostana 2, which has Abhi and John Abraham pairing with Katrina. The shooting of the film has been postponed to 2011 because director Tarun Mansukhani is reworking the script.

We don’t know how much truth is there to these gossips, but if it indeed is the case then we see a cold war building up between Ash and Kat.

Asin Thottumkal says she never refused any offer from Sridevi saying it's "impossible" for her to say no to the senior actress and her filmmaker husband Boney Kapoor. "I share a great personal relationship with Sridevi ma'am, Boneyji and the entire family. I was shooting in Chennai when I heard about the report that claimed Boneyji had approached me with some film and I refused, that’s just impossible," Asin said.

Boney echoed the same saying: "We are working on scripts of ‘Be Positive’ (the sequel of ‘No Entry’) and ‘Mr. India 2’, I am not someone who will approach actors with incomplete scripts. Let the script get completed first, then I will announce the star cast."A report said that Asin turned down an offer from Boney citing date problems and her "no" apparently surprised Sridevi who is the young actress' neighbour in Mumbai.

Vidya Balan And Tabu Next Movie With Santosh Sivan's Urmi

We all are witness to Vidya Balan's acting prowess and her dancing excellence. No wonder then that director Santosh Sivan didn't blink an eye before approaching Balan for a dance number based on the traditional Mohiniattam dance form, in his yet to release film titled Urmi. The song has been choreographed by the well known south dance director Ulhas. Not only is Vidya performing a dance number but she has an extended part in the film as well. This Malayalam film is a period drama set in the 15th Century and deals with the killer of Vasco Da Gama. The leading actors of the film are Genelia D'Souza and Prabhudeva.

Vidya has completed the shoot for it but another famous actress, who is also known for her Indian looks and exceptional acting skills, would be doing a number in the film as well. It is none other than Tabu who will be seen in a dance sequence with Prabhudeva and actor Prithviraj which will be choreographed by Ahmed Khan. If you can't wait to see Genelia, Tabu and Vidya together on screen, just wait until the end of the year when the movie is slated for release.

Dabangg (Fearless) has been in the news for quite a while now. After Wanted, Salman Khan is in desperate need of a hit as his earlier two movies failed to set the box office on fire. With a newcomer as director, a debutant heroine and a star studded support cast, Salman went all out toDabangg promote the movie in major cities. There was only one question on everyone's mind. Will this movie wow the audience?

Dabangg is a usual story of good prevailing over evil. Salman, the shady cop, never knows fear. He confronts everyone upfront and is never shy to mouth his words before anyone superior too. ACTION. He has a step-brother and a step-father whom he hates and a mother he loves most. SENTIMENT. He falls in love with Rajo (Sonakshi Sinha) instantly and goes all out to woo her. ROMANCE. He makes the evil politician – villain pay the price for his bad deeds. REVENGE. Sounds familiar? But the movie is a compelling watch... in every sense. Why? Because, Salman Khan is the hero. The ‘Atta Khatta Dabangg hero’ will be the most talked about personality in weeks to come.

Chulbul Pandey lives with Pandeyji (Vinod Khanna as step father), Makhkhi (Arbaaz Khan as step brother) and Ma (Dimple Kapadia). He is full of surprises. For some he is a corrupt police officer who makes money from politicians and bad guys. For others, he is the fearless cop who never thinks twice to wipe out bad guys. Chulbul hates his step father and so does he. Only person he cares for is his mother. Arbaaz is the naive brother whose only aim in life is to marry his girlfriend Nirmala. He falls in love with Rajo. The scene where he falls in love at first sight is one of the best scenes of the movie. Moving on, there is of course the corrupt politician Chedi Singh who locks horns with Chulbul given the slightest chance. He kills his mother, spoils his stepfather's business and poisons Makhkhi's mind to turn against Chulbul. What happens in the end? The director is in no mood to surprise us here.

Abhinav Singh, the director, must be praised here for his street smart direction. He certainly does not have a worthy story on hand but the screenplay and the graph he has sketched for Salman has worked wonders. He certainly has learnt a lesson or two from his brother Anurag Kashyap. The dialogues need to be mentioned specifically. If not for the wit and humor, the film would have been classified "just another Salman Khan movie". The audience just loved whenever Salman packs a punch with his dialogue.

Sometimes, it makes one wonder if Salman is a cop or a showroom model with his perfectly-fit shirts and trousers. The best part of a magic trick is that we know we will be fooled but still we wouldn't want to know how. This movie is like that. We are here to get entertained. Logic? Maybe next time please. Because this is Salman's movie. This man is ‘bulbul by heart and Dabangg by mind’. He is the perfect cop Bollywood has seen for quite sometime now. He is brash, bold, funny, witty and emotional but above all, he is lovable. Lovable not only for Salman fans but for everyone.

Salman's screen presence in this movie makes him tower above everyone. When we are treading on a path of subtle and offbeat movies, Dabangg laughs out loud at subtlety. Be it his romance with Rajo, his roguish stunts or his confrontations with the bad, every slide in the movie screams Salman. He looks every bit suave and debonair as his creased shirts and trousers.

Sonakshi Sinha (daughter of Shatrughan Sinha) makes a noteworthy debut as Rajo. Though her scope is limited, she makes her presence felt. Arbaaz as the brother has done a decent job. Vinod Khanna and Dimple Kapadia show why they are still sought after veteran actors. Their remarkably subdued acting is indeed a treat to watch. Anupam Kher and Om Puri have been wasted in miniscule roles as usual. Sonu Sood, as the antagonist, has shone in his character. One feels this talented guy deserves more than just villain roles.

Abhinav has been neatly assisted by slick cinematography, editing and a wonderful music score. The crowd erupts every time there is a song sequence. The background score is also very effective. Overall, Dabangg escapes from the usual with a larger than life hero and neat direction. It is a Salman Khan movie right from the first frame. Never one to disappoint masses, Salman and Arbaaz have delivered a Super-hit which Bollywood was yearning for a while. Celebrate Eid Salman Ishtyle!

Verdict: A perfect holiday entertainer for the masses.

Sonam Kapoor fearful of Anil Kapoor

Getting into films has changed Sonam Kapoor’s equations with her father.The actress used to be not far from her dad before.’I was very close to him and I have seen him be what he is. He is the finest actor in the world and has seen several ups and downs in his career period of 30 years. But then he is still down to earth. He treats the issue of every personal as his own and sets to resolve them.

It is unimaginable to think that someone of his age is doing so even today. But then after getting into films, I have become a little fearful of him. I open up more to my mother these days. But when there is a large problem, I go to him for advice,’ says Sonam Kapoor who normally does not think much of what the world feels about her.

The actress went on to say, ‘I am someone who always listens to my heart. If my heart agreed to do something, then I am there doing that. But when my heart does not permit me to do something, I avoid that totally.’Well, it seems that Anil Kapoor is not paying attention to Sonam anymore.

SANTHANAM THE STAR!

Certain movie trailers excite me. Boss Engira Baskaran was one of them. Watched it over and over again in Behindwoods and I decided that I will

watch this movie first day. The movie was every bit as I expected and was a laugh riot. The dialogues were hilarious and the casting was impeccable. The brother of Arya needs a special mention here. The chemistry between Arya and Santhanam is better than Arya/Nayanthara. After a decade I could see even my father sitting next to me was having a hearty laugh. Credit to the director for giving an uncomplicated comedy that just relies on the core values of making an entertaining movie.

I have been an ardent follower of Santhanam right from the Lollu Sabha days. His counter punching dialogues are second best to Goundamani and in the days to come I guess he will be one of the most revered comedians in Tamil cinema. When his name appeared on the title there was handful of people who clapped along with me. Quite a few sharing the same emotions I would say. In the entire industry he is the one who is making a silent but a steady progress to the top. He has already acted as a hero in a movie and most of the comic capers he shares almost equals the screen space with the hero. His next release is Endhiran along side super star which I think he has achieved in the shortest time.

He could achieve all this without imitating styles,

Santhanam, Arya not requiring a separate track and a different theme for himself in the movie. His roles fits in well with the movie, he looks good and doesn’t over act. His screen presence is energizing. He is an example to aspiring artists that you need not be from a cinema family; need not come from a great director's school to achieve. Knowing your limitations, choosing roles that will project your positives is good enough. Another wonderful thing is he can act as a friend to any young actor in the industry and one would feel if he really is a friend to all of them to be so comfortable in the role. We can say one thing that is common in movies of Simbu, Arya, Jeyam Ravi, Dhanush, Jeevan and Vishal and it is Santhanam. He even acted with Vijay, Ajith and Suriya. I guess someone with extra ordinary character can only gel with all of them. True Awesomeness!!

You could see that he goes about his business by keeping it simple, uncomplicated, unconventional and result oriented. Can he be called the Dhoni of Tamil cinema?

Hope he gets better roles on the days to come.

There is no point in being busy instead of sharing the love between us. Many are asking the reason for Nayanthara entering my life. There are lots of things. When I was in deep distress she was a great consolation to me. She looked like an oasis for me in the desert. Normally I am short tempered person. But she has changed me a lot.

My assistants itself say that I am not like before. She is brave and bold girl. She changed me like her. She is the one who made me understand that love is unconditional. Nayanthara is an extraordinary person. I love everything in her.”

Yuvan Pays Tribute To Swarnalatha

Yuvan Shankar Raja appears to be a sad man after hearing the demise of singer Swarnalatha. He paid his tribute to the singer who has given us many everlasting songs. "Saddened by singer Swarnalatha passing away, she sang in many of Dad's songs! My heart goes out to her family n friends. RIP" was Yuvan's last message to the evergreen singer. Swarnalatha has sung classics like 'Povomma Oorkolam' in Chinna Thambi and 'Aattama Therottama' in Captain Prabhakaran on Ilayaraja's music.

Incidentally, Swarnalatha has never sung for Yuvan's compositions.

'Mankatha' Delayed Take-Off

Sources report that it’s all due to delayed preproduction works and few more casting works are left undone. Venkat Prabhu has been busy finalizing the actors for this bilingual film. Apart from Nagarjuna and Manchu Mohan, couple of other actors is also reported of performing prominent roles.

Meanwhile buzzes are that Venkat Prabhu may appear in a significant role as he seems to have gone through a makeover.

It’s high time for Kollywood buffs. Especially, the filmmakers and technicians, who deserved international recognition, are going high on cloud nine. Fox Star Studios has decided to release nearly a dozen of Tami movies, which will be either dubbed in foreign languages or screened with subtitles. It was before couple of weeks, official launch took place with A.R. Murugadoss being the creative producer. Now, it’s time for Warner Bros to foray in Tamil films and they’ll be making official confirmations about their entry by next week. In all likelihood, Columbia Pictures too has decided to churn out more Tamil movies as they have a vast range of talented technicians here.

Anupam Kher in Kollywood

Anupam Kher is back in Tamil cinema after a break. The veteran Bollywood actor is playing a crucial role in ‘Mudhalvar Mahatma’, a film directed by Balakrishnan, who made the critically acclaimed ‘Kamarajar’.

The ace artiste, who had earlier acted in Tamil movies like ‘VIP’ and ‘Kutrapathirikai’, is playing the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in this political satire, which is currently being shot in and around Chennai.

“I was very much impressed by the script of ‘Mudhalvar Mahatma’ when Balakrishnan narrated it to me. So I immediately accepted to be part of the project. It is about Mahatma Gandhi coming back to India”, he says.

“I am open to offers from Tamil cinema”, Anupam Kher says and adds: “I am happy that Kamal Haasan remade ‘A Wednesday’ (in which he played the lead role) in Tamil as ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’. Though I have not watched the film, I was told that it was great”.

Meera Vasudevan says that she is happy after her divorce. She has donned the female lead role in the films Unnai Saranadainthen, Arivu Mani, Jersey and Kathi Kappal.

Now she is acting in the film Atta Nayagan. Meera Vasudevan got married to a famous cinematographer’s son Vishal Agarwal.

But due to difference of opinion they parted ways and got divorced. Now Meera has got a new lover. John Kokkan is his name. Both have decided to get married soon.

Meera Vasudevan while speaking said,” All the things in my life have happened in my small age itself. I had acted in Ad films and then acted in cinema and got the awards. All these things have happened. In the same way my marriage also took place.

It happened when I was not ready for it. There was no cordiality in our relationship. So we parted ways. I have totally forgotten my old life.

Now I am treading in the right path. Now my life has become very happy. I can feel it. John Kokkan has entered my life. He is motivating in every matter. He is a great consolation for me. He is in love with me. He is also suitable for me.”

Actress Kanika tells the reason that why she is not acting in Tamil films

Actress Kanika who is currently busy in Malayalam films said,” I am currently acting in the Malayalam film Christian Brothers. I am getting lot of offers in Tamil.

I will be able to act in films that is being made in single schedule and that is the reason I am not able to act in Tamil films. Right from my young age I am fond of singing. I stopped singing after I became an actress.

Since I have settled in America after marriage, I am having time for singing. I use to be invited by the Malayalam and Tamil associations as chief guest for the functions they conduct.

In one of such functions I sang the National Anthem. There was a big applause on hearing my voice. In another function also they asked me to sing. Since they liked my singing they have started inviting me to sing. Now I have become a stage singer.”
